If the new install replaced your wallet.dat(which it shouldn't if the install was on the same computer) then your *****A address is gone. You can't put it back just because you know it. You need the private key for that hash of the public key.
That's why they recommend to backup your wallet.dat before reinstalling the client.

If you still have your original wallet.dat somewhere in your computer you can retrieve it, if not, I'm sorry to say, but your money is lost Sad

I wouldn't start worrying until your Block count catches up. How many blocks does your client say it has?

I aprreciate this a lot guys...thanks.

I still do have the orginal wallet.dat file.

When pressing "explorer %APPDATA%\Bitcoin" in Windows Start, it got me to the folder where I also find the new wallet.dat.

Can I assume replacing this file with the original in this folder will do the trick?? : original is 104kb, the new one is 112kb (propably due to my spontanous address creation  Cheesy

Anyway, if anyone can confirm....I do want to make a mistake when coming this far...

Gracias!! A small token will be wired ;-)

Yes, take out the new wallet.dat file and replace it with your original one(that you had before reinstalling the client) and you should be all set Wink

Maybe a rescan of the blockchain will be needed, maybe not.

Don't delete the new wallet.dat, just in case. Back it up.

Just one thing i don't understand: How do you have 2 wallet.dat in the same folder?
