A small club of local bit coiners, are into bitcoin at the local internet cafe and are selling what looks like prepackaged casacius coins. Especially nice is that the 'leader' is a woman who seems very enthusiastic. But otherwise, it's years behind other markets. I would be surprised if india makes a big difference with bitcoin in the next year or two.

Can you imagine what will happen when all the migrant workers of the world figure out how to use bitcoin?

I've met with a lot of people in my day to day job that work here and send some money back every week home to family to help out.

I saw a gentleman on the weekend send $220 to his family at the Western union counter in the grocery store...it cost him $256 to do so.

Yes but they are pretty advanced at phoning people up and trying to get them access to your computer...they tried it with me the other day! "I'm from the Microsoft Service Center.....You have Malware installed I need you to check your Id number....." They then log in to your PC and try and install a file.... MSC DON'T call people.

Always nice to see enthusiasm for Bitcoin around the globe. I'm really looking forward to travelling around the world in the near future and being able to spend my coins. I'll always be on the look out for the Bitcoin logo.

This is going to be huge if it gains ground in India. In these developing countries, micropayments are all the rage and bitcoins are the perfect means of performing transactions of this nature. I think a similar phenomenon is going to happen in Africa eventually where people are in a similar style of situation.

I think Bitcoin could actually take-off faster in the developing world. A ridiculous amount of people cannot or do not even have access to a bank account, so all they would need would be a paper wallet, USB stick or a mobile phone or access to an internet cafe to make or receive payments. Bitcoin could be very useful to these people

Very true. Bitcoin is potentially huge for people without bank accounts. And to be honest, people in the developed world with bank accounts aren't doing that great with bitcoin. Banks are not lining up to love bitcoin.

Just depends on laws passed in places like India. Fingers crossed time.
