Up, I'm in the process of making another skype account, this time protected by 2 factor. I'll have to add back all contacts manually since skype support sux in some unbelievable ways.
I'll update the thread when it's ready.

So that's why your skype were sending spam messages like "Selling bitcoin for low price" in foreign language. I immediately blocked the skype ID after I've seen the update on your thread.

Good, thx. User "Director" --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=533147  is the forum account of the hacker (or one of his accounts).

The old account is now suspended, at least....

I tried my best to recover it but skype support utterly sucks and they were asking me impossible to remember data such as the exact month/year of the account creation (was more than 10 years ago most likely....).
I provided them a ton of evidence like the old password, wrote to them from my old microsoft account mail which have been tied to that account for months if not years (now untied by the attacker), pointed them to my forum threads (which were still linked in the skype account message too....) and other stuff. All in vain, they keep pointing me to a stupid form to fill with much less relevant info.

I now created a new account only accessible through microsoft account, which I protected with 2 factor (google auth installed on a separate device always kept offline) and noted down all the damn recovery data they may ever need. Even sent them a payment for credit I won't ever need just to leave a trail.

I'll try to add all my contacts back manually in the next days (luckily the full list is still there, including skype names, in my microsoft account "contacts" panel).

How did that user got into your account in the first place and how did you manage to find the account of that guy?

How did he broke in, I'm not sure. Most likely through that old microsoft account I forgot to have tied to skype altogheter.
Skype password was very hard if not impossible to break: 22 random chars, always kept on paper only. It wasn't a keylogger cause if that was the case he could have hacked much more sensitive profiles (like forum one).
So that's to be excluded (and my pc is well protected anyway).
Microsoft account password was much weaker but he probably didn't even break that: must have exploited some faulty reset procedure, but not sure.

How did I know, cause that user pmd me this:

- Director: "Hi!If you don't pay 3 btc, I scam all people in you contact list."

- Ghibly79: "People in my contact list are not stupid and I already contacted most of them. Waste of time."

I finally managed to get it back, but I'll probably migrate all my contacts to the new one with 2 factor regardless, unless I find a better solution.

I'm sorry but I only buy with those payment processors. Only rarely sell to members with a really extensive trading history here.

Second deal in progress, already made one with @ghibly79, he respond fast and very thoroughly. I recommend this trader for smaller, as also, bigger amounts of BTC. You are in good hands Smiley
