One of the most loved young singers of the moment, Justin Bieber enjoys mostly a female following, which would go to great lengths to show their love and support for him. I snatched the above quote from some website to drive the point I'm about to make, home. What if Justin Bieber donned a small Bitcoin symbol somewhere on his apparel? All he has to do is wear it, not be a spokesperson for Bitcoin. In fact, it's best he not even talk about it. Just wear it wherever he goes. The conversation of him doing such would go viral. Now, you may wonder why he would do this if there's nothing in it for him doing it. I'll address that concern with a question: What if he, or his manager, purchased X amount of Bitcoin prior to his start of donning the Bitcoin symbol for the sole purpose of cashing out once their position reaches a predetermined point? And it doesn't have to be JB, for this idea to work. Any well known personality could do this, thereby increasing the awareness for Bitcoin, and everybody wins. Then again, perhaps I'm overloading the cart for the donkey, again. (from the idiom: the cart before the horse)  |

Yes, I can see it now. Tweens trading Zhu Zhu pets with each other for bitcoins. It's genius! You'll be surprised how much money tweens enjoy spending. For them, it's all disposable income. Another fact is my 10th grade nephew knows more about TOR then I do. I asked him how many students at his school know about and use TOR. His reply--Every one of them. Bitcoin is somewhat of an adjunct of that. Remember, JB is just an example. Can you think of another known personality this would work for? Maybe some upcoming star? |

Wasn't making fun of your post Most of the current generation already understands virtual currency in the form of game credits and points cards so I think bitcoin having stuff like that wouldn't be far off and would definitely be a boost to merchants and the bitcoin economy. Digital natives who already get technology could start using Bitcoin right away. And JB already endorses Google Chrome. |

Wasn't making fun of your post Most of the current generation already understands virtual currency in the form of game credits and points cards so I think bitcoin having stuff like that wouldn't be far off and would definitely be a boost to merchants and the bitcoin economy. Digital natives who already get technology could start using Bitcoin right away. And JB already endorses Google Chrome. It would be considered a silent endorsement. No words or comments needed. The person(s) who does this has nothing to lose, and a lot to gain. Unless, of course the negative media disses the persons for quasi-attaching themselves to Bitcoin |

I realize there's a shortage of girls on this forum, but this is just a terrible idea.
Bitcoin is here to revolutionize the world so it would be best if we kept the likes of Justin Bieber and anything/anyone to do with him out. Besides, it's easier using daddy's cash and credit cards.

Help Bitcoins by buying clothes, technology, books, etc. through people/stores that accept BTC. This will increase overall value of BTC as well as mitigate unnecessary bank transaction fees.

I realize there's a shortage of girls on this forum, but this is just a terrible idea.
Bitcoin is here to revolutionize the world so it would be best if we kept the likes of Justin Bieber and anything/anyone to do with him out. Besides, it's easier using daddy's cash and credit cards.
This has nothing to do with getting more women on the site. JB was just an example. The idea is to get more people involve, thus creating more commerce to fee the demand. |

See the beauty of this thread? One has to know who Justin Bieber is to hate him. Say JB starting doing this, and because of that YOU saw an article about Bitcoin you wouldn't have found otherwise. Try to remember where you first read about Bitcoin. It possibly didn't stem from an article taking about little Susie and her lemonade stand. I knew beforehand that there would be JB haters, hence using other examples, but titling this thread using his name. JB may well be a terrible example, but is the idea sound? Comments? |

My first thought was: Bitcoin is not ready for JB fans.
Your idea isn't completely ridiculous; there might be another celebrity that would do this, but probably not quite yet. I reckon it should be someone that has a relatively intelligent following; not a bunch of teen girls who will just go "WTF" and forget about it. Maybe someone like Jon Stewart or Colbert.
