I've mined about 35k dogecoin and I'm wondering if it's a legitimate coin? I know it started as just a joke then people started mining it and buying it so now it's actually worth something, but is it going to die in a week? Is this worth mining or is it just a joke/fad?

Thanks,
Toren

Dying in a week? Do you realize it's the most requested feature on cryptsy?

Is it a joke?  Yes.

Is it real, and can be used to purchase real merchandise? yes and yes.

The following for doge has exploded in it's own microcosm on reddit and various forums, social media and exchanges in a relatively short time.
While this explosion doesn't lend to it's credence as a legitimate currency, rest assured it is very real and is already at a +$2 million USD market cap, on one exchange and has at least one +10 GH/s pools dedicated to it.

If I wanted to dump the shit out of it, I'd do it right now on coinedup.com

It has enough liquidity.  I could sell me 500K DOGE and run off with $180.

However, I won't do that because I have faith that dogecoin is going to be widely adopted and enjoyed by numerous people.

That's worth holding for.

I was skeptical at first, it's basically just another clonecoin attached to a meme. But I've seen it doing the rounds on all kinds of forums and websites that quickly that I'm wondering if it's actually working...

Edit: I'll just add that it's good for crypto in general as it's attracting people who wouldn't normally give a... including females.

maybe DOGE is a joke. maybe it will fail and fade away. probably it will just be one of a thousand altcoins nobody really needs.

but i think it's great, because it engages new people into cryptocurrencies that other serious coins never would have reached. when in 5 years people get nostalgic over DOGE like they get nostalgic now over stuff like tetris or tamagochi, that's a good thing. they will be way more ready to use cryptos than someone who never heard of them before.

Proof of what? That I own (nearly) half a million doges? @ .1 btc each = 41666 BTC = $16666640 @ 400/btc. Multi-Millionaire.

DQ8vEyvj9gq9E5KRv4suzs85ZmEQVU4YpB

I, pontiacg5, own this chunk of doges.

So, what do I win for being virtual doge millionaire? Is it more doge?

no shit... I own 40k doge. You're not a multimillionaire until you sell the doge for real cash. Go try and transfer your doge into cryptsy and see what happens. the price will be 0.0000002 when you're finally able to.

The lols are almost too much to handle.

Sarcasm is supposed to be a given with doge, right? Does one not get it?

But...it's like 4x that on coinedup which isn't even a good exchange.

Wow.

Doge made me rich.

Just sold all my doge OTC. I got $10 million, a Bitcoin early adopter was the buyer.

I bought a Ferrari and a boat that I will park in the Genova area in Italy.

Thank you doge, Thank you community, Thank you buyer: I fulfilled all my dreams.
