Dear "crypto-currency" bitcoin fork projects,

Freenode runs such a great free service to the community.

Please use another peer discovery method, or your own server, or a different irc network, or AT LEAST, communicate with freenode operators first so they don't spend their valuable time responding to what looks to them like a botnet using their network.

Thanks.

Love ya. Mean it.

This is a serious bummer. I would be kinda pissed if I ran a node.

I will pay 10btc for one of your shiniercoins.

So what about the authentic Bitcoin client? I always understood it used IRC to find nodes, does it use Freenode or another service? How does it avoid getting us banned from servers?

Seems some people do the right thing and ask permission of freenode or at least "communicate with freenode operators", some say "oh they are doing it , we can too" but dont ask permission? Shows little forethought or respect from altchain devs...

just another thing to make these alt chains look scammy

So can someone see about getting us unbanned?   Seems the help says to use certain channels to talk to support, which is hard to do if you are banned.  Really seems a bit drastic on their part to ban you instead of just asking you to not run i0coin .
