Considering this FluiDyna® TYPHOON that has eight GPU slots. Bare bones case and motherboard is $5611.00

Do you think it will support eight BFL Monarch's for a 4.8 TH/s mining rig?

There is a data center near by where I can fit nine of these into a 42u rack for $600/month which includes power, cooling, security, and fire supression.

Here are my numbers:

$  6,500 -- FluiDyna® TYPHOON
$37,400 -- Monarch's ($4,680 x Eight)
-------------------------------
$43,940 per 4.8 TH/s mining rig

While getting the Monarch's could take a while, I did notice that NVIDIA has 52 job openings for the keyword "ASIC"
http://careers.nvidia.com/pljb/nvidia/nvidiaemployment/applicant/index.jsp?pljbHome=/nvidia/nvidiaemployment/applicant/index.jsp&targetPage=/global_jsp/applicant/SearchAgentMgr/Search.jsp

With the talent pool at NVIDIA, it is entirely possible for them to manufacture some ASIC cards that could really take things to the next level and exterminate butterflies with a single swat.

I'm pretty sure ASICS for bitcoin are way more cost effective than GPU rigs for Litecoin.
Since GPUs have a way more higher power consumption, cost more to produce and are slower than ASICS.

Thats why I'm on the works of producing my own ASICS.

with something like the reference coolers found in the 290's I think with a cool ambient temp and enough airflow you can probably keep them cool jammed up that close together.

I never even thought of putting things into a datacenter but that really could be worth it...

The cooling you have to worry about, that case is very tightly closed, air flows exactly from one end to other, its just about the size, check dimension for the cards, case, mobo. its a very solid build.

that wont hold many monarchs. maybe 3 will fit in there if you look at the hideous excuse for watercooling that they are showing off, which doesnt even include the radiator or pump for size

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461
No longer a wannabe - now an ASIC owner!

Did you say butterfly labs?

Ahahaahahaaa.

Newflash:   Many delays to come.  Many!

And you want $5,000 for a tin box and 1 motherboard?

Lol, a 7 GPU MSI MB is $200 and a sweet DopaMine case is $200.  That's $400 to your $5,000.

Back to the drawing board.

my thoughts exactly, how would they stay cool?
