Master nodes enable participation on a network via incentivizing / ensuring the network/project has "better health." If done correctly, master nodes are fantastic for cryptocurrency (assuming they have the proper rules in place to make it worth-while/safe for all participants).

yes it is give power for rich just because there are no cheap masternode coin, you have to buy lot of their coin to start on it . masternode in my opinion is the expensive & risky way to invest on a cryptocurrency, just becarefull because nowadays mostly brand new masternode are going to scaming people money.

Masternodes are great incentive for more decentralization. If there is a good profit in owning a masternode, lots of people will set it up and run, that means more nodes in the network and more stable blockchain. Only ownside is that there are so many scams out there trying to lure people with crazy MN rewards.

As for my research, I have tried to participate in masternode once. It went well on the last three weeks, especially when the masternode offers a big ROI. But when a time goes by, the price of the masternode is slowly going down. I found out that my fellow masternode holders have dump their profit coin to buy more masternode. I think the main benefit for this is only for those who can afford masternode. My advice is to stay away from coins offering a masternode program.

You are not right there are quite cheap masternodes, yes they are new but they are promising and with a great potential. Just analyse them carefully and you can become the happy owner of the next Dash-like masternode.
