The cryptocurrency market is  a very big and diverse place thus price movement isnt and cant be influenced by a handful of people even though it usually appears as such.We all seem to think some people cause FUD and so cause price to increase or decrease but come to think of it im on one side of the globe and i know you at another side we are both crypto enthusiast who buy to make some different profits.

It might be and not abnormal since all the traders have some expectations from the Concensus. But my thinking is that price may go high after the Conference becasue so many positive issues and developmental points will be discussed there.

You can believe that but actually, no one knows what happen. That's only opinion and can't be the basic of crypto market price moving action. As trader/ investor we only follow the trend and prepare for the worst with our stop loss. In many cases, a lot of trader/ investor loosing their asset because change their faith and strategy after see another person opinion. Leave it and just believe in you.

Price of any market rationally depends on the demand and supply of the products. Since bitcoin is working based on a decentralized network then how a handful can group of people can influence the market. It is not rational. I completely agree with you. Op is clearly misjudging this market? Do you even know anything about the cryptocurrency market op? No particular group can control the crypto market, but whales can manipulate the market to a certain degree now and then. No consensus will ever determine how Bitcoin performs due to its volatile nature. Any small piece of news can affect the price(Positive or negative), but no one can ever accurately speculate.

It's not caused by consensus, in my experience, any consensus or something like that doesn't give a lot of impact on the price. The news that related to the adoption and development give a lot of impact on the market. Mre than 80% speaker in the next consensus has been filled by the developers from altcoin. The next consensus will be talking about bitcoin a little bit. Remember crypto is a game changer.

Well I believe crypto price will still go up more, what will determine if the price will go up is the kind of news that we will see in the space, if good news keep coming to crypto, more people will join and as more people join, it will make the prices to go up. remember crypto have not gone main stream, by the time more people will join cryptos, it will go so high.
