Bitcoins have been stuck for 3 months now.

I have 2 transactions that have been 0/unconfirmed for almost 3 months now. One was on 5/27/2011 and the other was on 5/28/2011, they are both sitting at 0/unconfirmed and have been since the transactions started. It's not a problem with being unable to connect, as I currently have 84 connections and a full block chain downloaded, I just want to know if those are lost forever, since I was assured that could never happen. If not, how can I get them back?

I have been able to receive and send transactions successfully since that time, it is only those 2 from may that will not go through, and I am stumped.

Start your client with the -rescan flag and see if that helps. If not maybe someone else has a solution.

Unfortunately, that was the first of many solutions I have tried. Rescanning, adding nodes, moving the wallet to a different computer, nothing worked. I did search a lot before asking.

and also you want to try with a clean blockchain:  http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/Bitcoin/blockchain
see the instructions in the readme (remove everything but the wallet.dat, unzip the block chain and start your client back up)

Having the same wallet on 2 different computers won't cause double spending, it will just fuck it up.

I didn't say that it was successful... Let me put it this way: the coins were already spent by the time that first transaction was made, so the transaction permanently failed, which is something that the client doesn't know how to handle yet.

Ah sorry the way you worded your statement made it sound like a fact. When I learn about bitcoins and learn that the inventor found a way to prevent double spending and then come in here as a newbie and read "most of these coins were double-spent", got me confused!

3. just open ez_setup.py
4. open install_zope.bat
5. open install_ecdsa.bat

I have a 64 bit AMD system, and running the ez_setup.py and batch files worked fine, so I don't think it's a problem with the python installation. Is there some sort of other dependancy that I'm missing?

yeah cant use 32 bit twisted with 64 bit python. in case his bolding wasnt clear.
IMO.. i would go with the 32 bit python rather than moving to the 64 bit twisted, you'll have less problems in the long run.

Luckily your fix did indeed work, and my 0/unconfirmed transactions have gone away and I have 1 more coin than I previously did! And I learned a bunch of stuff too!
