I talked about this
originally in the NXT forum they were pretty sympathetic
17670462608804215164stole ALL of my nxt, that fucking son of a bitch. I hadn't been paying attention to my account cause I was waiting for nxt's client to stop getting updates multiple times daily so I didn't notice earlier but god fucking damn it. I know there is nothing I can do about this but I am so fucking pissed about this.
I even had a pretty sure password that was 17 characters long which according to
https://howsecureismypassword.net should have taken 6 million years to crack, though I had my account cracked within 6 days of me making it, I think there are some MASSIVE password sweeps going on in the NXT network. I made a suggestion in the other thread
why not just have a 2 part password, you must enter a first password and a second password that way even if you bruteforce the first password you must bruteforce the second password at the same time as if only one is right the system does nothing different than if both were wrong thus making account hacking at least a bit harder because even if you put your first password as your second password they would have to figure out your first password then test it against the second password and that wouldn't be enough to confirm either unless they somehow learned it from you or some other method. Either way having my account hacked when
https://howsecureismypassword.net said it would take 6 million years to crack... essentially has gotten me out of the NXT game as I was really planning for this to be my sleeper investment that would be able to do great things but given the situation at hand I guess anyone relatively secure account can be hacked, I bet someone could simply get a lot of cloud computing servers from linode or digital ocean and set to work for a pretty cheap amount, I mean even hitting 1 account per day could probably pay for itself given how cheap cloud computing is now. Either way I lost 0.35 btc (or at least that is what I invested at the time)
Just wanted to let everyone know that this happened to me and I thought I was pretty secure but apparently not.
