Hi I am a new user to the bitcoin community.  Whats the deal with dogecoin? Is it legit I thought it was mostly a 4chan thing?

It started as a joke. But its real now, and its growing quickly. Probably a good Alt coin to get involved with as it is really easy to mine right now.
