So, I just installed bitcoin and GUIMiner. I set it to my deepbit.net account, and well I'm pretty much stuck on what to do next. @_@ At the bottom of GUMiner it says, shares: 0 accepted  and  650khash/s.    Im not really sure what i do from here... any help would be very much appertained.  Thank you for your time an patients.

[edit]
I went to slush's pool and it seem like its set up right... but... umm how do i know if its working?   Or do i just have to let it run for a while before i notice.  Sorry if thats a really stupid question.   All in all it seems like bitcoins might be pretty fun to mess with.

Since your using slush.

Check your account..

as long as you setup a worker you should see something in Current shares within 30 mins.. if not.. you have something setup wrong.

Mining Both Bitcoin and Litecoin.

make sure you set up as PPS since you have very low hashing rate it will take a very long time to get a share. sounds like u are running a mining off CPU?

hmm maybe i just didnt let it run log enough. Ah I see. I was only running with the cpu, and here I installed drivers to make it openCL last night. Thanks jrtubs for pointing that out.

I followed http://www.newslobster.com/random/how-to-get-started-using-your-gpu-to-mine-for-bitcoins-on-windows  guide. I sent a worker up on the slush pool and got connected to it guess i'll just have to wait and see.
I have bitcoin and GUI miner running.  Im not sure if im missing something.  Not really sure how to set up a pps i guess i got some goggling to do. Tongue I hate feelin like a noob. XD    thank you for the replies. Smiley I really appreciate them.

[edit]
I got my miner working with my video card now.   its at 78.9mhash/s  seems really low still XD   My shares: 11  not really sure if any of that is good or bad.  lol   Just curious, but if you set more workers up does that make it go faster, and if I set this all up on a different computer i can just log into a worker on the same account right?     Once again they you for all ur time. I'm not sure if slush has PPS or not i didn't like how slush has a 100 confirmations, i use deepbit since they have instant payouts and pay for invauled blocks and long pooling. I dont think slush has long pooling yet.

These are the 2 payout options that deepbit has.
Pay Per Share: You get a fixed amount for every share submitted. This method has zero variance but slightly higher fee (because pool takes the risk). Recommended if you like steady payouts.

Proportional: You get a portion of every solved block proportional to your part in pool's hashing power. This payment method has a noticeable variance: some days you can get less, some days you can get more. This is due to randomness of searching for proof-of-work. The fee is 3%

i consider anything under 100 mh/s to be low so u are best to do PPS and know that you're getting paid for each share you get vs a % since u will have low numbers of shares.

also if you want to see my set up you can check out youtube.com/L2bitcoin i will also be posting tutorials on set ups and over clock and pretty much anything u need to know about bitcoin mining!

Cheesy ty for the reply.  I switched to deepbit.  I have a work and the mode is set to pps. So hopefully thats how u do it.  Just out of curious how long will it take to actually see any kinda money from farming?   Im still not 100% sure how this all works yet.   I'm not sure my computer will be good enough to make any kinda money. XD   and damn u have a nice looking set up.    Can i come over and play crysis on ur computer? XD    Ty for the help. Smiley

on a side note, My friends thinks in crazy for trying bitcoin out.  Tongue

You need to convince your friend that just because it's different and flies in the face of normal convention does not mean it's
crazy or silly.

He just doesnt really understand how money is generated from it.   Btw if I may ask, is it even worth it for me to mine with i only get 75mhash/s?   I looked at a calculator and it seem like I'd only be able to make 13$ in a months time.  XD Seems pretty bad from letting my computer 24/7, or does the pooling worth differently?      Thank you for all the replies. Cheesy   Maybe one day i'll be able to pay it forward. Smiley
