Hi everyone,
I'm new to mining, I have a bifury and a MacPro.
I tried MacMiner which didn't find any devices so I installed bfgminer, loaded the kernel extension, but still the same.
Before doing anything hard and calling help, I plugged the bifury on the front usb port of the Mac and not on a hub usb. And as you perhaps know, it worked!
The bifury was recognized.
So my first question is simple. The bifury is fat and so you can't plug another usb in the front of the mac when it's working.
Simple question, what could I try to make my bifury work with an usb hub?
Second question, apparently bfgminer quits ran by itself or through macminer! The red light on the bifury disappear. Anything? Will I have to reset the firmware?

Thx a lot.

I couldn't wait so I've updated the firmware and it goes.
See this topic:

Don't forget to enter something like "cd /" before "diskutil unmountDisk /dev/diskN" or Mavericks won't let you unmount the disk.
You can look here too:
http://c-scape.nl/bi-fury/bifury_upgrade.pdf to be sure where to make the short-circuit. I did it with a chocolate paper and my finger. Don't need to keep the short-circuit, just do it, plug the bifury in and wait for it to appear on the desktop. Then you can release the short-circuit.
If you're not sure of the path, type "cd " and drag the volume (on the desktop) to the terminal.

For the hub, I don't know. I know that some GPS like tom-tom doesn't appear with every usb cable. It's perhaps the same? My hub is powered enough (1A on each port).

As I write this, I'm 5,48Gh/s. Fine.

I was having similar issues on a Mac Pro.  After upgrading my cgminer software to 3.10 the issues went away.  Thanks cgminer guys!  Smiley
