Shouldn't VPN, and all the other anonymity layers provide enough protection for them from LE ? Also seems to me International LE is spending too much time on shutting down online marketplaces when there are larger problems out there.
Anyways i don't think this will have much impact as it doesn't seem to be a complete shutdown, it's just one of the moderators that got arrested.

The CIA runs much of the top tiers of the drug business. They don't like the idea of losing control of it.

The same could be said about nazis, you can't blame others for actions you commited. I think that's called scapegoating. This whole system relies on people "following orders" Is it ok if a soldier kills an innocent child because they were ordered to? My understanding says that soldier is able to say fuck off. Only a small handful of soldiers disobey unjust orders though. Then they have to live with it for the rest of their lives.

Bitcoin won't go down.
All the arrests made (the 3 moderators and some dealers in the western US) are fall-out from the SR1.0 bust. Not related to 2.0 at all, other than the fact that the moderators were moderators on both sites.
Everyone claimed when SR1.0 went down that BTC would plummet. It did just the opposite.
The only people that need to be concerned at this point are sellers/buyers from the original SR, because as the post on TORMARKET shows, they (the cops) have a LOT of shit.
For the rest of us...It's business as normal with Bitcoin.

How fucking dumb do you have to be to try to buy drugs on the internet? Deserve to be arrested.

I have to strongly disagree with this. If those "cops" didn't comply with these crazy laws of the state, "government cartels" could be as corrupt as they wanted, nothing would happen. Cops are not just "doing their job", they are the problem. I agree with JekyllIsland above. This is the Nuremberg Trials denial.

because arresting someone for intentionally breaking drug laws is comparable to being complicit in the killing millions of innocent people. maybe a bit of perspective wouldn't go amiss....

The tech was not the problem. Social engineering took them down.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a Poisson distribution and he eats at random times independent of one another, at a constant known rate.

How many lives has this "war on drugs" destroyed? How many people are in jail for victimless "crimes"? There will be a second Nuremberg Trial once this nightmare is over. Only this time it will be people like Christopher Torbell(sp?) who will stand trial. It is only a questions of time now...

The tech was not the problem. Social engineering Stupidity took them down.
DPR sitting in public logged into SR as the adminintrator 2 weeks after the feds called at his house to have a chat about him ordering fake ids from SR ?? he must have thought he was untouchable but he could easily have moved out of the usa to somewhere /anywhere else and ran SR from there given his personal BTC are estimated at 600k+ and there is some wallets that are still missing according to investigators

It wont effect the price. SR is still up, just a few mods got busted and they're out on bail now anyway. The tech was not the problem. Social engineering Stupidity took them down.
