I personally didn't buy dogecoins out of principal for it being a total scam coin and made to undermine the whole alt-coin market. However, I should have bought some early and was looking at it on the forum to buy it cheap before it was listed anywhere. I did notice that it had a lot of hype.

Maybe with time I will find out if that was a stupid decision not buying it on principal, even though I noticed how everyone was crazy about it.

It is marketed like crazy and I think they have people everywhere pumping it. Even someone posted a girl will sell her virginity for 100,000 doges.

Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

The community built around Dogecoin is so massive, I actually think it may have a shot. Unlike Bitcoin or even Litecoin, where the community is all about utility, ideology, and other boring shit, I think Dogecoin has created an appealing community centered around a fun atmosphere which can be found at pretty much every website supporting the coin. I'm not so sure it'll simply be abandoned one day.

-Or maybe the marketing's just starting to get to me. The dog's pretty darn cute.

It will be like those online poker sites, where people are folding their hands because someone went all in with 200 million dogecoins, and your bet is only 10 million dogecoins.

Or you are stuck on level 360 on Candy Crush, and you can use 900 million dogecoins to pay for skipping that level.

That might actually work, yanno. I'm still not buying any dogecoins.

Au contraire. People who have no experience with cryptocurrencies are getting their first exposure with DogeCoin. It did not intentionally do anything to undermine the altcoin market.

I've been thinking the Next Big Thing will be minority coins. LGBTcoin, for example. Just imagine the uproar you could cause if an exchange like Cryptsy (or a functional altcoin exchange) refused to allow them on.

I agree wholeheartedly. Dogecoin is the whole reason I actually got into mining. I knew about bitcoins and others, but never had a real reason to go and try mining them myself. With Dogecoins, it's all about fun and less about profit. I mean, I wouldn't mind a bit of profit, but that wasn't the reason I got started with it.

That's exactly what the entire Bitcoin movement is about.  Creating communities through shared interests without some distant 3rd party imposing anything on the community.

wow, you are super rich, indeed. Can I move into your new mansion?

Why does Bitrebel have 65+ Ignores?
Because Bitrebel says things that some people do not want YOU to hear.
