For those of you who know what Habbo is, this thread will probably bring you back some memories.

There is a game called Habbo Hotel that I used to play like 10+ years ago, and it taught me my basic foundation of trading.

In the game, there was in-game currency, it was Furni (furniture), you used it to deck out your rooms and more people would come to your room if you had expensive furni.

Bitcoin, is alot like HC Sofas. HC's were like the gold standard. If you wanted to buy lets say a throne (rare furni), it would cost you x amount of HC's.

And there were lots of different currencies, and they were all traded against each other. Alt coins are like the norms, and bitcoins are like the rares. You can buy HC's with norms, but you would pay more norms because the HC was like the gold standard, same in the cryptocurrency scene. You can pay with altcoins to get Bitcoins, but you will pay a little tax.

The point is, that today I just remembered Habbo while I was trading some NXT. It really gave me a excellent foundation of my trading skills. And if your a good trader, you will be very successful in the game.

Habbo, those were the good days. Playing games as a 10-11 year old kid. I am surpised Habbo is still around to this day. That game is like economics 101, while having fun.

lol! I hardly got into that game, I get what you're on about though, I'm currently trading altcoins because they're so cheap/volatile so I can get more Bitcoins and hopefully build up some kind of passive income in the process.

Played the game long time ago. Hardly even remember any particular detail about it, but I don't recall it being anything like cryptocurrencies. Maybe it's just my memory though.

I'm shocked, it's like you've read my mind, I was just thinking exactly this these last days. I've played habbo around the same age as you, and got into crypto in 2011. I learned the word "profit", to check prices on Habbox, and made myself a habbo 'millionaire' solely by trading. It was an amazing game, good days indeed. It has thought me a lot of things, and I'm also quite sure it had a very profound influence in my journey through crypto over all.

Cheers!

I used to play that game non-stop back in high-school.
And you are right, people who were not able / willing to pay real money for their credits, managed to make money by trading: buying furnis cheap and selling them a little bit more expensive.

I had a very fun time there, and even thoughI did not trade much, I did it sometimes. My friends, were better than me tho, they could earn dozens of dollars in a single day.

I prefered to "work" for an "empire" and get paid about 15-20 credits per week.

Good times.
