I'm new to scrypt mining, and I see that the go-to mining app on the PC is cgminer (no later than v3.7.2 for scrypt).   With the recent upswing in scrypt-based alt-coins, is there another program that works better and is updated regularly?

Litecoin BAMT is a USB bootable linux distro designed to be used for pretty much only mining. I haven't used it yet only heard of it but am considering giving it a try.
