Interested in buy some stable 6 card open air RIGs for my home server(s). Ideally thinking in the $50-$100 range. I know I could build one for ~$40 but don't have the time.

thanks

i'm not sure your definition of "stable", but let me know if you're interested in something like this and we can work out the details:

cool chassis - that's exactly what I'm looking for. How much are you thinking? Another option is you can sell the plans and I'll build Wink

well that one in the thread i'm not really selling, it's the first one i built so it has more of a sentimental value. i've spent like 25 hours on making it so far lol. i can make you a similar one though, probably will be much less time since i already experienced the problems and kinks already.

i don't really take money for the "plans", and even if i do i'm not exactly sure how to sell it or what to give you lol. you're more than welcome to read through that thread to see how i built it. one guy in there did almost the exact same thing except make it longer to fit 2 motherboards. you can use the same design concept to build it tailor it to your needs.

now if you want me to do the actual work, then that's where we can work something out. it'll be something like the cost of material plus a tad extra for the labor.

Ok sounds good - how much do you think it will be for materials + work?

These aren't open air, but keeps the cards damn cool. Deisgned for sitting on a 17.75" wide shelf, ala server rack:

During construction and testing:

Some I have setup for 5 GPUs, others for 6. $100 each + ship, includes power button, reset button, and power LED.

Thanks but I'm looking for something more in the $75 range (ideally).

I like what Detritus built here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=29729.0

Anyone selling those?

I will sell you a custom air rigs very similiar to mine that I have below. All I need from you is to know how tall your CPU cooler is (bottom of mobo to about 1/2 inch above CPU cooler) and I'll make it to that height. (as you can see in mine, my ram is actually taller than my cpu cooler.) I'm going to lay down the psu's flat this time around. I just used a few pieces of velcro to hold the PSU down. The motherboard has only 2 nylon bolt/nuts to keep it from moving, and I've never had an issue with it.

Tomorrow I'll have pictures of the new rig.

Here's pictures of revision 1:

Also note I was ripping the 1x1's out of 1x6 and ran out, hence why the fan is lying on two random strips. I'll be putting cross members up there AND cross braces vertically between the cards to keep them upright. ( I didn't have cable extension dimensions at the time.)

Anywho! I'll get revision 2 made and throw up pictures.  These will be stackable!

I'll sell a 6 card chassis for $30.

Shipping is two options:
1) Number coded put together for about $15-20 shipped each ( All you need is a philips and a few minutes)
2) Ship entire thing assembled, which might be about $25, I'm not sure on UPS dimensions vs weight costs.

If you like these, I might start selling more. I know I have the cheapest product here.

hmm if i do it without the base that holds the PSU, then maybe $50 to include material and work? this would mean the motherboard will be on the very bottom and you can put the PSU to the left or right of the motherboard. making it 3 layers like in mine takes way too much time for me.

lol that one he made costs $100 in materials alone. i don't think you'll find one at $75, unless someone is looking to lose money with free labor  Wink

I think it's actually not a bad idea - as long as it's wide enough for 1 mobo and 2 psu... plus that'll make sure that the cards are suspended high enough for cpu fan clearance...? How much for such a case?
