Wish I had seen the potential in 2009

I came across Bitcoin in 2009 and started to mine them on my AMD Athlon Pc. But I seen it as abit of fun because I didn't understand the true meaning of money back then and I didn't understand the full potential of the protocol. I think a true explanation on what money is should be taught in school btw. Anyways I mined on and off for awhile but then stopped  because the cost of electricity was playing on my mind. I don't remember how many I had but it was in the hundreds, the pc is long gone now along with the Bitcoins and I just kick myself for not taking the time understand it! I could defo had been one of the very few people with multiple thousands in a wallet.

I just wonder how many people are like me in seen it early on but didn't see where it could have went?

Definitely in the same boat, I saw it a long time ago but there wasn't much info about it. I tried a bit of cpu mining but I never got much out of it, a few coins. That wallet is long lost and I sure am kicking myself for not seeing the potential, it was just a fun thing to try at the time. Ah well.

well iv missed the train of bitcoin, & skipped the train of ltc ... tryin to catch up now, smaller alt coins ofc!

I went in when it was 10$ each, took a long break, came back and boom, 10 times more worth. Wish I had bought some when they were cheaper.

I can't really say that missing the BTC train was the issue for me - just simply knowing about trains going at all. Also been handicapped with many other real life issues recent years but I have to say it would have really been a lot of fun to be there from the very beginning. And that not only from monetary point of view.

Well it's onto alt coins now and sure it's all far from over.

I actually mined like 3 blocks with my CPU back when it first started, but I didn't care enough to hold onto the wallet ;_;
Those coins are probably still there today, just sitting around doing nothing, while I'm here broke

One day I see it's still alive around 100$ and I tell myself lets buy some but didn't.

Today I see how great it is. I see how of a world changer this thing is.

I forgot how long ago it was but i remember looking at bitcoin when there was a site that would give you a free bitcoin and it was ran on donations. I'm pretty sure bitcoin was worthless back then too.

After looking at many coins charts I noticed they almost all one thing in common. They have a very low resistance for 2-3 months and then a huge out of scale pump and then everyone jump out the boat and head to their nearest Lamborghini dealer.. An the one that bought just a little to try get to buy a new bus cushion. Oh and those who sold after few week watch the news and cry a lot.

Also this site's choice of forum software and database performance SDMB's.
