Very unlikely. I think we're still very far away from even reaching 10k, we might see 10k in late June or July once the market gets rid of the bearish sentiment and we start recovering towards new highs (preferably, the 5-figure mark).

Then again, anything can happen, the price went up today from 8300 to 8700 in a few minutes so, if this becomes a trend in the following weeks, we might see 10k very soon (though, I'd rather see a slow recovery and consolidation around the 9k's than a sudden spike to 10k)

So the next time we cross $10k, it may be the last time we've seen 4 digits. However it's also very likely that we see prices below $10k a few more times.

June is just about 16 days away and we will see what is really going on whether this is just one of those speculations or he is actually someone who knows what he is predicting but really I don't see anything special in what is being paraded as predictions here and there. Price increasing, yes I believe that would happen but rapidly is not what I would subscribe to because it would cause more harm than good no matter how we want to look at it. A rapid increase would only cause unnecessary noise with various unwarranted comments from unwarranted people but a gradual increase with solidified base is what is needed at this time.

Yes, its possible that we can get over $9K before the end of May. Shrem is certainly no trader or technical analyst, and he isn't known for making accurate price forecasts. I agree with him in a very broad sense on a longer timeline, but I think he's straight up wrong here.

Yeah, that's what I was saying. This mindset works when you're in a bull market that's starting to go parabolic. Not in a sideways/bear market. I remember in early 2017, zoinky (an old timer from around here) predicted we were crossing $1,000 for the last time ever. I think he'll be right. I think Shrem will be wrong.

I disagree. McAfee's forecast has over 2.5 years left to play out, and based on the historical logarithmic growth trend, it's not even that crazy. It probably just depends how crazy the short term hype gets around the next halving. Shrem's call is a hail mary because we haven't even established a bull market on the 1-day or 1-week charts, and there's only 2 weeks left in May.

Bitcoin could stay under $10k for a long time, as it has for a few months now.

There are absolutely no guarantees as to if next month all of a sudden we will go into a period of full on bullishness, and people get hyped up. In fact, $10k has demonstrated to be quite strong as a resistance level. It'll be hard to even break that $10k level to begin with within 1 month, let alone act as support for the rest of BTC's lifespan.

As much as I'm a bitcoin bull in the long run, I don't think that there are any reason ta say that bitcoin can't dip below $10k again during a period of bear market. That's just an absurd proposition to make right now, imho.

This are all predictions no one can say for sure what will really happened with bitcoin price in the coming months. Many were speculative that May the price will reach to 15k but it did not happened. Everything is possible though so we keep an open mind and stay positive!

I don't buy it at all.

I think that he is completely ignoring the possibility that bitcoin may, and probably will, experience future bear markets that will take prices down unexpectedly to low levels. It simply makes no sense to guarantee bitcoin is going to stay above $10k for eternity, when we can't predict what goes on in future bear markets in which the extent of the crash may be much bigger.

Plus, with the correction that just came, it'll be hard for bitcoin to even get above $10k this month with respect to the lower levels that we are currently at, and the strong barrier of $10k. As I said, I don't see this prediction being realistic or even a serious one.

I think Shrem is about to join a very select and elite group of people - the people that make wild price predictions or claims without logic or facts or rationale, are proven wrong, and are thought of as jokes in the community forever thereafter. He'll join the ranks of Craig Wright, Roger Ver, and Tom Lee...it's impressive how quickly these people have ruined their reputations!

With 11 days left, I can nearly guarantee you that Bitcoin will not exceed $10,000 and never look back in that time frame. Everyone here would love it, but it's just not going to happen.

What Shrem is trying to do is to generate a buying spree based on his comments. He's arrogant. He thinks his reputation is so strong that his mere words can drive the market. He's a foolish kid.

If Charlie Shrem releases that statement, there must be some trigger that the public does not know at the moment. But due to the very fact that at the moment, Bitcoin is very volatile, no one really knows. Only the future can tell what it holds for Bitcoin and everyone that has invested a lot in it. The funny thing here is that I myself am quite positive that Bitcoin will increase in price later, this is mainly my personal belief, speculation and opinion. The fact is right now, BTC has a very good chance or tendency to drop in prices by a lot. That being said, I believe in BTC

9 days is enough to bitcoin increase its value, I think its really possible to bitcoin reach more than 10k in the next month because since the begining of year until now bitcoin price is continue to increase eventhough not increase significantly but it can be signs that bitcoin will back into high price.

9 days it can double, I guess its done this previously.    Doesnt matter especially as we know for sure bitcoin can be volatile and move fast, its not the most important thing compared to actual usage I think.   Thats all I really care about because I think price will follow actual population growth in Bitcoin users and it'll be far more stable then random hype or estimates purely about price. 

 Really if price is too high without justification I get worried it actually becomes a negative more then a positive, I think higher prices need a good base built on many points and especially not just hype or expectations

I really hope it will increase. Only few people want it to drop to $600 in order to but and hold for the long term. Long term speaking Bitcoin experiences a continuous uptrend, but that uptrend is slow and boring for most of the people here. The only thing they care about is that it moons every week so they can cash out their profits. It's sad to see that the major part of the market is filled with these greedy individuals. Every video on YouTube and articles on news sites only point out how bearish the market is, while they completely ignore that fundamentally we're still going up. Technically speaking the charts indeed indicate a bearish momentum, but that's only because of the crazy all time high of last year. Without that high the market would look completely different.

You're probably right but i not going to expect june or july to be the turning point. We're almost halfway through this year and that 10k resistance seem to be a really tough nut to crack and it would likely take us a bit more time before we can barge through it. In general though it's still a positive movement for me towards the last quarter

It doesn't matter when it will happen. The only thing that matters is that it will happen, and make sure you enter the market before it happens. In other words, current levels form a great entry point.

People quite often waste a lot time waiting and wondering what will happen, but they don't realize how much of a blessing current levels are. Buy when the mass thinks the market is going down, which is right now.

Institutions like to make the mass believe that the opposite is happening, and when they don't expect it, the market will go up hard, and the same mass selling now will buy back at higher levels.

This statement by Shrem might be a collaboration by the bullish prediction by Wall Street veteran Tom Lee that bitcoin will reach $25K by the end of this year. But with the recent trend i doubt that it would reach that value at the end of the year.
