I don't know why metamask filtered them as phishing link as it prompts on my screen that warning as well when I visited their site, and AFAIK there's no one issue scam report or even phishing report to them on their ANN thread or review thread

This is the reason why it got blacklisted:

"Hi, I've blacklisted the domain as we had many reports on Etherscan and EtherScamDB about coins not being sent back.

I will be investigating it more before considering a whitelist."

It got requested in this commit: https://github.com/MetaMask/eth-phishing-detect/pull/1586
And where he explains the reason: https://github.com/MetaMask/eth-phishing-detect/issues/1598

This reply do clarifies at all. Been wondering at first why having that kind of prompt where Privcoin do have still pending issues why metamask decide to flagged it as a phishing link. Being blacklisted is on their control and we cant do anything about it if metamask decide to do such thing. Resolve issue first before the blacklisting would really be removed. Thanks for the share up of links, a good preference to look out.

It's clear this service has never even tried our service before blacklisting as they are completely wrong.

One of our users has already posted and they will either remove us if they are a legitimate blacklist or they won't. Nobody from their site attempted to contact us to resolve any issues or address any complaints.

We currently have over 2,000 ETH in our reserve. There is no point to scamming 40 ETH and some tokens as they accuse us of doing in their Github.

Almost all of our customer requests fall into one of the following categories:

* Sent too little coins
* Sent too much coins over our limits
* Didn't see our transaction to their wallets for some reason
* Used a contract for ETH receiving
* User didn't pay enough BTC fee to confirm fast
* Sometimes we broadcast a transaction and the network drops it. This is the only one that's partially our fault and we fix those very quick when they happen rarely.

If any user has an outstanding support request and isn't satisfied yet then send an email and I will keep a personal eye on them for the next 48 hours as opposed to a rep.

Really nice to see this kind of quick response from the owner/developer itself. I have notice Privcoin since its inception in the cryptoverse because you used to have a signature campaign here isn't it? But may I suggest that you contact them directly and try to resolved the issue. You already built your reputation and a simply email or tweet will not hurt you. Their might be others wanted to destroy your name and don't give them a chance. Reaching out to MetaTask will be a good thing, IMHO. Goodluck to Privcoin.

A copy of the email sent to MetaMask for full transparency from our official support email:

Quote
Hello,

Your service has incorrectly and improperly listed privcoin.io as a scam site

As you can see, the users that noticed have used our service and think otherwise:

https://github.com/MetaMask/eth-phishing-detect/issues/1598

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3805294

I can say that nobody from your site has ever tried us or you would have never listed us to begin with. There are no scam reports on the internet, there is no proof of any scamming anywhere that you can show. We provide a cryptographically signed letter of guarantee so that our users can prove if we scam them.

Sometimes something will go wrong like dropped transactions on the ETH network but 1 email to us will resolve it so if you can show an email contact attempt AND an unfulfilled letter of guarantee then we'll accept the blacklist.

The scam address we are accused of owning is https://etherscan.io/address/0xa3e785ee490e1102fe32512973c96Dc7DC876348 but we clearly do not deal with tokens and think all EC20 tokens are worthless.

It somewhat describes the integrity of the blacklist in the way that nobody tried our services with $10 worth of crypto before listing us as a scam but a swift removal and whitelist would go a long way to restoring that.

TOPIC SOLVED! Support replied within 24h and I got a full refund! Trust restored :-)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have successfully used privcoin.io in the past - however this time I sent 1 BTC and never received anything. Does anyone know how to get a hold of the person running this service? Or must I consider my coins being lost to fraud?

I have a letter of guarantee if it counts for anything....

Thanks for any help or tips!

I did not use a phishing website I believe. https://www.privcoin.io/bitcoin/id/?id=f3f69d93
you can see on the website that I deposited the bitcoins in the given address.

I used it at least 10 times before with over 1 BTC per Transfer. Never had a problem...

No, I have to be honest. I did not verify the message. Never did, never had a problem so far...

So I was I scammed and the money is gone or is there any chance of an error and the service being legit and I getting a refund? Any advice?

Looks like the signature is valid but copying it from OP's post makes it look invalid. I went to the link OP posted above (his session), downloaded the Letter of Guarantee, checked again and it worked (verify here).

edit: Apparently there is an extra space after the first paragraph? (see).

I did not use a phishing website I believe.
Yes, you are right. You used the real website and the LoG is legit. Have you tried contacting them? Their email is support@privcoin.io (source).

If they don't answer to this, I will give them a negative trust and advise you to create a trust flag so I can support it.

Yes, you are right. You used the real website and the LoG is legit. Have you tried contacting them? Their email is support@privcoin.io (source).

If they don't answer to this, I will give them a negative trust and advise you to create a trust flag so I can support it.

Yes. I did send them an email to the email address you mentioned. About 3 hours or so ago, after I had 10 confirmations (usually it ALWAYS worked with a single confirmation) I started to wonder. But he has not been active anywhere I could see for about a year (twitter, bitcointalk, reddit). So not really expecting an instant reply. Let's hope for a miracle! Because this is a fortune for me to be honest...

Note that, if you recover your funds, your privacy is gone after posting your Letter of Guarantee.

Yes. I am aware of that. It's fine though. Got nothing to hide. I use mixers for transfers because I believe in the right of privacy. But the transaction is clean... So if there is any chance of recovering my funds I do not mind sharing the details of it...

No one could recover your funds except for privcoin support so better wait for their response.

How you end up using their service instead of using other mixers? Their announcement thread here on the forum is not so active this year.
Honestly, I can't access their website I tried to whitelist it with my antivirus but it still blocks by my browser and metamask plugin.

Also, check their announcement thread from here bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2164614.200 and report your issue and maybe they can see your post.
