Welcome to the forum! New here as well but I've been investing in/following bitcoin for a long time now and am looking for promising alt coins.

Recommendations are welcome, thanks.

Greetings, new here as well.  My head is spinning from reading so much information.  Lots of good and lots to weed through.  Most seem like good information and a bit you have to take with a grain of salt and realize the goals and motives of the individual posting.

I'm really enjoying this though and hoping to find some used equipment locally to mess around with.  I see a lot on ebay but it just seems so overpriced, like the usb miners that only pull 333kh/s for around $60-$90 with shipping.

Only 333 Kh/s? I'm aware that isn't high when it comes to ASIC's, but compared to dropping 90 bucks on a graphics card to do the same work, you'll be 100x better off with the usb miner.

First time hearing about this usb miners. Cool stuff. Peapole are paying so much money for GPU miners while they can buy this stuff. It uses only couple of watts... I'm quite new to this whole mining. I'm mining dogecoin for now and hope it can bounce up soon... Any sugestions for newbie? Which coin do U suggest? I'm mining with gtx 560 - ~143KH/s

Be careful when trading coins.
Never (really, NEVER) send money to anybody.
There is a lot of scammers in here.
If you must trade, then use a trusted escrow, that will reduce the risk.
However there is always a risk of being scammed.
Beware, there is a lot of scammers here.
