Hi everyone !

I'm usually running Folding@Home or BOINC projects on my machines ... so I'm new to mining, but not to distributed computing !

I've been reading this forum for a while, and I finally decided to register here to improve my contribution.

I'm mostly a DOGE miner, and I'm also mining a few BIL Smiley

I'm using a R9 290X, but it is giving me a lot of troubles when I try to optimize it ... basically, as soon as I change setting to something found over the Internet, it just refuses to start Sad

Anyway, any thought is welcome, and I hope I'll enjoy this cryptocurrency advendture.

Gridcoin is combining mining with BOINC, maybe you'll be interested in it.

if it can help, my .bat for cgminer has the following line for my R9 290 :

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://eu.ltcrabbit.com:3333 -u username.workername -p password -w 256 -g 2 --auto-fan --thread-concurrency 24000 --intensity 19

Thanks luckygenough56, my command line look like this too. But as soon as I rise thread concurrency, mining won't start anymore with error -4 ... actually, the only thing that works is --shaders 2816.

I've also noticed that high intensity (19 or 20) yelds more keyrate, but give me way less "accepted" than lower ones (I'm currently using 14).

It will take you a bit to find the best cgminer settings for your card.

Is a very useful page!

If you want any form of profit, Litecoin is probably your best bet right now.

intensity at 20 is a no go for most people, too many rejected jobs, but usually 18-19 is the best compromise.

As for thread concurrency, it's a bit tricky, it won't change dramatically your hashrate but it can helps a bit. 32000 ish is a no go for me, always crashing so 24000 is the highest i can go it seems.
