For people living on windy locations, farming wind to get electricity with a windmill is a good idea to pursue ?

I have no idea how much electricity should I be realistically looking to get out of that, but considering most of the time in here (lofoten, norway) the wind blows at an average ~15 meters per second it looks at least like a good idea.

I have an old generator, but I've got no clue if the thing "holds" electricity like a battery so I could farm some before getting a rig running on that.

Anyone with knowledge on the matter ?

That would only make sense if can build and maintain a wind farm for less than what it would cost just to use power from the grid. In most of the world electricity is cheaper from the grid unless you can get some big tax breaks and subsidies.
