Phished MEW - How to save the token?

Hey guys,

As you see in the subject my MEW was phished. Every ETH I deposit there gets withdrawn immidiately. My problem now is, that there are still Token on it, but I cant transfer them on my new Ledger Wallet, because I cant pay the gas fee. The guy who steals all my ETH for the gas fee uses a bot, I cant explain it otherwise because he would be online 24/7 on my wallet.

Can anyone help me with this ? MEW support cant do anything and I already wrote MetaMask, maybe they know how to do it.. Is there some kind of order that my token get transferred as soon as some eth is on the wallet or a bot, which is faster than the other guys bot ? Really need some help with his, I appreciate every helpful and honest answer !

Btw, there will be some kind of "finder's reward" for the guy who can help me !

You can only transfer token if you have a small amount of ethereum to pay the gas fee.
There is no other way better to send a small amount of ethereum to your MEW then send your token fast.

Well the most important part is to contact MEW's support for your account, they can't transfer your token without ETH in your wallet. If you are worried that sending an amount of ETH in your MEW wallet because your suspicion is that the hacker is watching your action, then it might be good that you should not send any amount. Wait for a little longer. Access your MEW thru Metamask/Mist to avoid Phishing Sites.

Sending it fast enough is probably out of the equation as the bot most likely does it automatically in probably even less than a second. I would try the first solution though, the bot would probably only send out ETH if it reached a certain minimum amount.

Try to send a very small amount to your wallet, just enough to pay the gas. I think the bot wont transfer this amount, he may wait for higher amounts worth transfering

There is no other way, maybe this way can be a little help
Such as:
"A" is the hacked MEW
"B" is MEW which has some ETH to give GAS

1. Make sure your token in "A" is ready to transfer (at least just click "send" button)
2. Then, send some ETH from "B" to enough gas
3. Monitor the ETH delivery status from "B" to "A" via a new tab
4. After the ETH status is sent, do not pause too long, say 2-3 seconds to return to the tab where you are ready to send your token and do the transfer.

The OP is aware of the fact, but wants to be faster than the bot in order to retrieve his tokens.

MEW is just a gateway to conduct transactions on ethereum blockchain, so the MEW support cannot do anything as the scammer is in possession of the address' private key.

One can't be definitely sure of how the bot works, but there's no harm in testing this method out.


My proposal would be to send the exact amount of ETH that would just cover up the GAS for the transaction of tokens, but if it is used by bot to take away the ETH, then it would fail because the ETH would be used up in this case for GAS making no ETH left for the transaction.

I can't confirm whether it would work or not.

Thats one of the problems, the hacker isnt looking at my wallet the whole time, he has some kind of program, which does the work for him. MEW support just told me that they aren't a bank and wont do that for me.

I will definitely try this , I will calculate the needed amount of gas with the websites written by apoorvlathey(thanks!) and try it later.

It's pretty easy to monitor an ETH address. You can even use https://etherscan.io/myaddress >> add new address
You can get notified by email:

• Notify on Incoming & Outgoing Txns
• Notify on Incoming (Receive) Txns Only
• Notify on Outgoing (Sent) Txns Only
• optional: Also Track ERC20 Token Transfers (click to Enable)

Plus one can create an API key. GET/POST are supported (5/sec). So checking an ETH address isn't that hard.

I think you need to try by transferring ETH with a very small nominal so that the bot if you want to send ETH you will be constrained by gas price

I think I should move some Eth, just gas charges. And take out Token immediately.
