I see people selling mining shares. But how does those work? The shares are for life of the machine? Anywhere i can read some info? thanks.

it's like this.
you have like 2TH of power running in your home. so I pay you let's say $1000 for 200GH (10%) of your power for the next 6 months.
so miner will be working and every day you send me 10% of your miner earnings because I pay you 10% of your miner power.

simple as that.

To make it simple, it's just renting the hardware.
