Hello,

There are so many subjects people asking what kind of psu , motherboard or video card is great for mining, let is connect it in one place.
Everyone put model of psu, motherboard and video card with price. With motherboard you can put informations about how many pci-e slots have and about graphic card how many kh/s is producing. It will be helpfully for new miners.

Thanks

I personally suggest to stay away from AMD based platform. That's what I've learned at my own expense. Use therefore an Intel based and a CPU with integrated video like a suitable Pentium G if the motherboard supports (even if I don't have such solution yet). A motherboard with a molex or PCI-e power connector for the PCI-e bus is also important to have.

As a solid recommendation (not anedoctal), a PSU from Corsair or made by Seasonic. All PSUs with single-rail 12v capability. If you don't want to "shoehorn" or otherwise be concerned with power issues, a PSU that at minimum provides 250W + 200W per ATI 280x card. You should undervolt the cards, but for 3 cards: 850W, 4 cards 1000+W, 5 cards: 1200W, etc... You also need 20A base + 20A per card on the 12V rail. If a particular PSU claims to provide enough power but does not come with the equivalent # of PCI-e power connectors, choose a different one. There are molex -> PCI-e power adapters, however they are not recommended for the newbie build (neither by experienced people) and can be a sign of misleading specs.
