Something seriously wrong? At this diff I am mining from last 2 hours with 1.2Mh/s and finding nothing.

To fix the problem with checkpoints you need to start the client with '-checkpointkey' option and wait until a single PoW block will be mined by the network - at this moment the client will generate and broadcast a SyncCheckpoint over the network. (see main.cpp, line 2359
