As I saw my uncle become depressed regarding on gambling loss and addiction, i become pity to those who are already on these pit. But when this all begin? I hope i would get some gambling addicts here change their minds.

It all begins with a simple curiosity. A man is curious by nature and it sometimes lead us to places we do not want to be. We tend to get curiosed at first. What do they do ? Is it easy ? How do they do that? How can they earn that ? Can i do that also?. You start to wonder things you see on people who already on the gambling business. Seeing yourself on their feet and crave  about their life.

Now you want to get it experienced. You always look up on their winnings and get blinded by all the money they boast about. Your eagerness will get you on hand and start getting yourself into it little by little. Once you already know how to play, you are now on the first step to your grave.

It always feels like the first time.. This is what you tell yourself when you win and never realized that the money you earn is not enough to fill the money you lose. You just keep your bet until the last drop of your penny and even all your things convertible to cash starting to be the pot money. Now that you are addicted, its almost impossible to stop. Your mood started to change and even your family wants to push you away.

Now you want to die. and you know it is the only way to escape your problems. You have none. No money, no assets, no friends and even a family. The only thing left is you, your greedyness and your love of gambling. But is this the only way ? What option do you have? Let me help you.

Think about your life in the past. know how far youve been through this and how rough you have experience when you start to have this life you choose. Think the reason ypu start it. Is it woth it ? Now that you know the answer, start makong change. This was the hardest part but many people came through it, they overcome it, you can do it also.

Start changing yourself. if you learn how to love yourself, you can start loving others like your family. Start to rebuild your relationships with them by doing things you stop doing when you start gambling. Gamblers just love you when you have money but your family always loves you no matter what. Start moving away on things that remind you from gambling. The rest would be your own history.

Just telling how it started makes me feel bad. I hope those aspirant gamblers will not be in this situation.

Good advices, but certainly any advice will don't help if a person hasn't realize what he is aiming to be. It is easy to say however if you are in the persons place and state of mind it is not that easy to take this moments and for it to realize your life was been ruined or broke by your own gambling addiction. I remember when i was a gambling addiction any advice was only passing through my ears and go outside in the other side. You know that feeling that you heard them but you never ever mind what they are saying.

Although you have good intentions, I seriously doubt that what you say will help anyone to recover from gambling addiction. For people with serious problems the only solution is to quit gambling forever, not even one small bet. That same person can do this either with his willpower or by self-exclusion and help from friends, relatives and maybe psychiatrists.

Yes,if someone seriously addicted to something then he need to stay away from that thing forever or the addiction will come to him even after he recovered if he still continue gambling. As you said one who want to get away from gambling need to realize that he was addicted to it that is the first step towards recovery and he still need medications to recover combine with will power.

A lot of conflict goes on within us when we gamble. I know myself too well what happens when I have a lot of money, so I always try to set aside everything I need for bills expenses and savings, before depositing the amount to gamble because I know I eventually lose it all. This is easier said then done of course. I remember depositing extra after losing. Taking risks just to win back small amount and losing everything and more.

It is very difficult to help someone... but they will appreciate it. Thank you for the reminder.

As I said the only will power from the addict is not enough to recover,he also need care from the surrounding from family who need to support him to get rid of that. And medical help means he need to visit psychiatrist to get the councelling which is like the process of brainwash which can help them to get away slowly.

Still recovering from any kind of addiction is very hard only 2/10 can fully recover from that who have strong will power.

Addiction is always very difficult to address, especially in the gambling industry where there is a clear conflict of interest... Do we maximise the gambler and classify compulsions as demands that engineer profitability? In the UK for example we see industry experts argue that regulatory intervention, such as attempted banning of Fixed Odds games... As unfair to the industry. On the other side we see ex addicts say these are the "crack cocaine" of gambling, the gateway to dangerous addiction.

What makes it harder to help these individuals is their own insistence that they keep their habits private and their own refusal to admit to having an addiction.

We've seen the other "vice" industries evolve... Alcohol and tobacco for example, but with the effect of declining revenue. I wonder if the same will happen to gambling.

Gamblers just love you when you have money but your family always loves you no matter what.
~

That is not always the case and that's why these words would be of no help to those hated by their family and who have found, in their opinion, a real friendship among gamblers. If we want to help a gambling addict to abandon the addiction we should not be hypocritical in our advises. We have to admit that in some cases spending time with fellow gamblers, either online or offline, is much more fun than being around your family members who hate you.

On the flip side, I think that the "real friendship among gamblers" is an illusion, which can be convenient to believe in, but still is far from reality. To live a happy life one have to concentrate on finding the real love and gambling is not the place where to seek for it.

The problem within addictive people is that it is really hard to change an actual routine. As I said before, quiting gambling is like moving on after your girlfriend ditches you. It is not easy, but if you get used to the new routine, you will be able to forget about her completely. The only thing you have to do is convince yourself that you will never go back to that life (Gambling), because if you do, you will suffer and it will be hard to move on.

99% of the gamblers know the results but still they want that 1% who got lucky. out of 100 only 1 person will change and that too if he got  holded  strongly by his family and friends. Their are so many threads related to this topic and still no one have even came and told that they changed their life after reading this all post.

Gamblers addiction is not curable. The end is either they will become bankrupt or die. This is the bitter truth of the gambling addiction.

Though the advice given may seem relevant to gamblers, the best way in order for them to remove their addiction is through experience, self-evaluation, and self-help. A gambler's mind is mostly clouded by the thought of earning money through the means of risking his/her resources. Their logic is flawed and irrational as they rely their finances on something that is unpredictable.
The only way in order for them to stop their addiction is when they are put in a situation wherein they ask for help. Though prevention is better than cure, a person who does not want any help will not listen to anyone. Just be there for them at all causes since once they are put in that situation already, then your intervention may be the key to fix their addiction (they may result to suicide if no one helps them at that specific time).

apart from themselves, the environment also has a big effect. if we live in gamblers environment, it is difficult for us to avoid. as much as possible we should be in an environment where there is absolutely no gambling.

Well you can be influenced in such an environment but i don't think if you are resolute and know your left from right you could allow yourself so easily into something you don't want. Most of the time many victims are only forced into things they don't understand or never took time to understand and thus base their decisions on here-say. You can abstain from gambling with a strong self will even if you live in a gambling environment but i admit a few can only do this.

In such cases your self discipline and will power that comes into picture as you can always move away from the things which you understand is not for you or a complete waste of money and you need to become a role model for such scenarios and this is how genuineness are born within.

there are several ways to stop gambling, and the simplest step is to deny yourself some devices that can get closer to gambling like gadgets that can get closer to the online casino, the internet that makes many gamblers become a very severe addiction

It is a good one to point out some of the things that has really made gamblers to totally lose it. One thing with the human mind like you said is to always want to try new things and when it comes to gambling, we tend to see the better side and forgetting the worst side when indeed the worst is even more rampant than the better, which is where the main issue of control starts from.

It is hard to ever see any gambler that would say they want to gamble for fun as most always want the winning but over time, some who just enjoy the experience, usually find a way to control them-selves by applying some limit. Best thing is that if you know you cannot even handle yourself and the impulses, do not even start.

I can say that you narration is all about hasty generalization which is based on the experience you have or someone close to you had. I gamble and the beginning you enumerated does not in any way related to what I witnessed neither was it borne out of the quest to be rich or envious of those who made some money out of it. I actually started because I participated in the bounty of gambling sites that made it mandatory that the payment should be wagered at least once before being eligible for withdrawal while to others, it was as a result of payments made to their compulsory account created on the betting site.

And when I decide to tone it down, it was not because I became addicted and couldn't move on with life. It was borne out of the feeling of 'its a waste of time" and nothing else. Anytime I feel like making a run for my money, I try it out with the hope of losing and when I get disappointed, I am happy.

LOL, he seems written article from the own life incident. Whether it is Uncle you need to avoid the greediness and emotion while you are investing on the gambling platform. Most of the gambling is are not meant for you make the profit there.
Sometimes with the luck you may make the money but other than that you need to be careful with picking the odds, slot rolling and etc...
I always concentrate on sportsbetting other than I do not like and I would not invest on gambling sites mate.

I know you just want to help by your encouraging words but I will tell you the truth it won't affect those gamblers especially those who are already hooked to it. The only person that can help them is their one and only inner self if they are already willing and determine to change cos if not even how many thousands of people giving advice it is still nothing.
