Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Well that is the where we need to be soon. Merchants accepting BTC everywhere. I did asked the seller if they were planning on taking bitcoin. She did not know. But at least I mentioned it and said that they should. They step to buy the jacket: received BTC in tips, send tips to my coinbase account, cash the tips to my checking account, and then make payment to the credit card I used in the same amount. It wasn't really that painful but not ideal. The whole process took me less than a minute.  |
