丝绸之路创始人Ross Ulbricht(aka Dread Pirate Roberts)向曼哈顿联邦法院递交申请,承认他是政府扣押的超过17.3万比特币的拥有者,要求FBI归还扣押的比特币,因为虚拟货币不是联邦法律规定的应扣财产。FBI扣押了丝绸之路的17.4万比特币,价值约在一亿美元左右。前布鲁克林检察官助手Daniel Wenner称, Ulbricht的理由很有创意,但不认为法官会站在丝绸之路创始人一边。
