Localbitcoins accepts PP. Or you could try buy some on the forums here, but peeps wont likely use PP.

I'd go with a major exchange other than MtGox (because it takes too long). Maybe CampBX or btc-e?

Btc e doesn't appear to directly accept credit cards. They use third party companies from the looks of it. Are these safe?

I'm not sure if it works, but i saw this site that seems to accept credit cards: coin.mx
I did not test that site. So do whatever you like to do, but do it on your own risk.

Probably the only way to buy with a credit card is to get a cash advance and then buy the bitcoins with cash. Sellers generally don't accept credit cards or paypal because there are too many scammers.
In the U.S., the most convenient sources of bitcoins are Coinbase and LocalBitcoins.

bitstamp.com It is bitstamp.net in fact, and I've got my first BTCjust from there. I've also tried MtGox, but was never able to complete the account verification, (the same documents were accepted by Bitstamp) so just have given up with them.

Hello all,
I am from Europe but living in China for long time. I have just got into bitcoin and I love it. A little bit of inexperience and/or bad luck made me by few bitcoins at its highest (almost). I look for the long term so does not make me so sad if just that I could have almost purchased double amount of bitcoins if I buy it today.
It was very easy easy to buy bitcoins in China. I bought all in btcchina.com with no commission when depositing RMB. But now is impossible as there is no way to deposit RMB in the account. They said they are looking for ways to solve it. I have tried to contact them to ask about how they plan to do it but never got a reply (phone does not get through, emails do not get an answer). As soon as they reestablish RMB deposits (can't think how they will manage it) I expect a new increase in the price so I want to find an alternative way to buy it before it happens. I opened an account in bitstamp and got verified (from Mtgox have no reply, they must be very busy). When I wanted to make the money transfer from my Spanish bank account they said they will send an sms to my mobile to verify it was me making the transfer but since I live in China they sent that sms to my Spanish sim card that does not work in China ... I do not know how to overcome this problem and quickly deposit money in bitstamp, do you have any suggestions? Well I guess I will always encounter this problem when transferring from my bank so it will be a matter of talking with them and let them provide a solution.
In bitstamp, besides EU bank (SEPA), they offer ripple, which I do not know it works. Also AstroPay, but this looks more for Latinamerican countries.
Thanks.

Depends where you live. MtGox if you are in America. Bitstamp if you are from Europe.
