hello guys,

I am running 2 * R9 280x on windows 7 x64 and the CGMINER doesn't start mining, PLEASE HELP.....

little background:
I have been mining LTC from the last 6 months on my Sapphire 7950 and its working great.

I bought a mining rig with the following specs:
CPU: AMD SEMPRON
MOBO: Gigabyte 970A-DS3
RAM: 4 GB Kingston
HDD: 1 TB (I know its too much but I also need to store the data)
PSU: Corsair TX750
GPU: 2 * Sapphire R9 280x

I made a clean install of windows 7 x64bit on my new HDD and installed the basic drivers which came with my mobo and my R9 280x.

I had these AMD Catalyst drivers/SDK files from the last time and installed them, these are:
AMD-APP-SDK-v2.8-Windows-64.exe
12-8_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc.exe

now I am running cgminer and it doesn't starts mining. I tried different versions but no luck:
cgminer-3.6.0-windows
cgminer-3.0.1-windows
cgminer-2.11.4-windows

here is my miner.bat
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt -I 13 --thread-concurrency 8192 -o stratum+tcp://coinotron.com:3334 -u [USER] -p [PASS]

Please help, I have been scratching my head from morning but unable to see my gfx cards crunching shares...

Did you manage to get it working?

If not then make sure that you're on cgminer 3.7.2.  Those versions that you mentioned are old.

What do you mean by "doesn't start mining" ?  More details would help.

Also try without the SDK, uninstall both the SDK and the Catalyst drivers and try to reinstall just the Catalyst.  Apparently you don't need the SDK anymore, and I have heard reports of failures with it installed.

Also try one card at a time.

Use latest version of AMD driver (13.12).
Your current driver is too old may not recognize R9-280x.
