Although I'm not a big fan of ETH, it has performed OKay against Bitcoin. But since Bitcoin doesn't perform too well, the whole market is underperforming.

Eos is not a direct competitor of Ethereum. EOS is a platform for dapps, while ethereum is a platform for icos, so I don't think eos is taking the money which was formerly given to ethereum. Cardano is related to financial decentralization, so it is also a rather different thing. Thus, I would say that ethereum is not doing good for other reason. It is worth noting, first of all, that ethereum is simply following the general market dip here. I don't think so, EOS and ADA are still far below other altcoins, even it would be difficult to compete with RIPPLE.

If ETH is not performing well than so are the other crypto currencies not performing well. Its not just one currency but the whole crypto market that is going through a down trend. Why do you say ether is not performing very well? Let's not forget that a all coins suffered a big crash/correction and they are getting up on their feet again. Right now, and only looking to the well known coins, ether is probably the one with the biggest recovery so far, so I would say it's doing quite well. There are a few ERC20 tokens coming up, like USDC (a stable coin by circle), so I guess that a few bucks are coming to ether, so people can buy these tokens. Let's not forget Casper and Sharding, so I guess that Ether will have a bright 2018.
