Photos here from one of the first 'big' crypto conferences in 2013.

Compared to these days it looks like some high school science show.

For anyone who's been around for a while it's still surprising how rapidly things have caught fire.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

WOW. What a awesome set of photos. Inspiring - the coinbase one for me especially. Those grey coinbase shirts were great. Also note the Robocoin atm in the background.

Nice sharing.
Yes, this is growing fast, I think that if you have some recent picks from another conference it should be really amazing to share them, so we all can see the differences.

Sometimes we don't take a minute to think how much has happened in few years. I've been here for more than 4 years now, and both the forum and the cryptoworld have changed in a vortex reality.

Wow, it's crazy isn't it.

What really strikes me is how rudimentary and basic these conferences looked back then.

A span of 4 years has seen another bull market, but that's not the main part imo. Bitcoin adoption has been growing like crazy over the past few years, and bitcoin, which is something that was previously considered to be shady, is now making it into the mainstream. That's the most important difference, not the price.
