Not sure what is going on here as I'm fairly new to mining, so figured I'd ask here to see if any of you have any answers.

I can CPU mine from P2Pool pool's only. Any other pools will not connect for me.

I've also been trying to setup GPU mining, which has been a total cluster. I don't have anything built for mining, just an older work desktop that I wanted to try mining on until I build a scrypt rig.

Specs-
AMD Phenom 9650 Quad-Core 2.3GHz
4GB
ATI Radeon HD 4650 video card and an onboard HD 3200 series.

Anyway, last time I tried running cgminer this is what was outputted:

I've tried different pools without any luck either. I've also tried guiminer-scrypt with the same results.

Any clue on what's going on? I have the latest drivers installed. Could it be from using a hybrid-crossfirex setup? I only run the hybrid crossfirex to run three monitors for when I work.

Try to mine only with the HD 4650.
Idd maybe a with the hybrid-crossfirex setup.

In guiminer you can select a device separately. Wink

I'm new also, but I've had great success with bfgminer and my gpu.  I haven't tried cpu mining because I've read that it's very slow.  How has cpu mining gone for you?

Its probably because of the crossfire. Can you post your cgminer config, any files youre using to run the miner and your mining setup? Probably the easiest thing to do would be to remove the crossfire bridges and see if that helps.

Did you use GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT and GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS?

I have. It's listed as 0-0 ATI RV730. The other selection says [0-1] AMD Phenom 9650 Quad.

Absolutely horrible. I received a couple hundred doge coins in the beginning but haven't been able to get anything lately, so I haven't a clue if it's my computer or the difficulty sky rocketing. I usually only get 4-8 khash/sec. Lol. I just let it run when I'm not on the computer which is always on anyway.

This is all I have in my cgminer.conf

Bitcoin difficulty is just too high to mine anything meaningful, or even microscopically observable with a 4650. The shares are timing out before the GPU can complete them!

Even a shiny new R9 280x is really not up to mining any significant amount of bitcoin these days.

Scrypt coins, it can mine a tiny amount, LTC for example, you might get one a month, you may have to set minimum difficulty on the pool to 1 if possible for it to get shares of low enough difficulty it can even complete them at all though.

I am probably annoying the hell out of the operator of wemineltc by leaving a 4650 pointed at it Cheesy (yah a general surfing box that is on most of the time anyway) I made my first 3rd of a bitcoin on the thing back in february/march, but difficulty is 800x higher since then.

Anyway, if you're desperate to do something, anything with it, I'd prowl the alternate cryptocurrency forum and pounce on every new scrypt coin, mine a 100 or 200 and hold it until it gains a bit of traction (2 weeks or so) then sell or trade, meanwhile jump on the next.

Turn of stratum.

Use :
 "url" : "http://p2pool.org:22552"

That will help.  Grin

Or:
Make a .batfile

1 open notepad
2 copy: cgminer.exe --scrypt -o http://p2pool.org:22552 -u DLaKLdgGx9ScSN7Tomz5JknKgXpz8pKYGx -p x -I 13
3 change the -I number for control of intensity or leave it
4 save as yourname.txt
5 change the extention to .bat
6 run the .bat file

If you cant see the .txt, you need to enable the file name extentions.  Tongue

The bat file needs to be in the install folder of cgminer

Also disable the crossfire or the onboard gpu, only use the dedicated.
My onboard gpu doesn't work when i have a dedicated card in it.

Update cgminer for performance, 3.1 version is outdated.  Cool

You could use giuminer to see witch device isn't working by selecting them. Wink

@Kennar Firstable there is no problem unresolved furthermore you may use the "mining" section.

Disabled the hybrid crossfirex and disabled the onboard via device manager. Restarted and then tried to use your command with the bat file and this is what I get-

It looks like it's finding the video card, just failing to initialize it.

Then....when trying to use GUIMiner-scrypt alpha, It just stalls on trying to connect.

Ahh...evidently adding a -w 128 to the bat command worked. Only mining at <4ks/sec though, so either my settings must be off or this card really sucks. LOL. Not sure my CPU should be mining faster.  Undecided

Then....when trying to use GUIMiner-scrypt alpha, It just stalls on trying to connect.

I've also been having a bunch of problems with GUIMiner... I wish that there was a program to configure options without taking away the entire console  Tongue
