Are you a fan of Bitcoin?

Do you find it hard to explain to friends, family, and non-techies?

Me too, I think we need more/better explanatory videos.

This is the best one I have found: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LaSrxtWfgc

Unfortunately, she erred on the fiat money part...

What can we do to get someone like her to explain Bitcoins in excellent detail (no errs), with an ease of understanding for the first time viewer?

Does anyone else agree that we need an easier way to explain Bitcoins to the people?

She corrected her mistake at :52 with a text bubble stating that she read flat instead of fiat. Otherwise, a pretty good video.

They should have made a new video,
Saying FLAT money just makes her sound stupid, clueless of what she's  talking about, something people will notice.

I made a video tutorial covering bitcoins, however, it's more on how to get started, and it's also kind of outdated because of the mybitcoin/dwolla incidents

I like the term "flat money".

Probably 99% of the population has no idea what "fiat money" means, yet they all know about "flat money" (ink printed onto flattened pieces of dead trees).

The average Joe doesn't know what fiat currency is. But now, by her holding up a (flat) dollar bill in the video, every time she's said flat, the viewing drew a direct correlation to dollars. Whereas, if she would of said fiat, the first thought that went through a new viewer's head would have been:
