Im currently developing a bitcoin lottery.

Not too far from completion now. Draws will be based upon a real daily lottery here in the UK. with 80% going to jackpot winner and 20% going to the 2nd place.

Is there any ideas anyone has or things people would like to see in this new lottery?

Thanks

Joe

there is no profit for the house?  why would you offer this?

also, are transactions verifiable in the blockchain, like how bitlotto works?

yeah. The winning lotto numbers from a real draw will go though an algorithm to choose the winner, which can be verified.

Im not too keen on the method bitlotto used with hashing the numbers and then matching them afterwards

i'm not concerned that the winning ticket can be verified, i'm concerned about knowing how many losing tickets there were (and thus the total lottery size).  is that verifiable.

I have the site on a VM at the moment, as soon as i setup the port forwarding, you can see how it works.

Each deposit will be listed on the main page. each deposit of 0.25 will be a ticket. at the top it will state how much is in the pot, and the prize break down.

To start with, i will just do 75% first place and 25% second place. The second place will be the next ticket down from the first place winner for simplicitys sake.

at the moment there will be 0% fee's. Once everything is running smoothly and self contained, i will add a 5% fee which will go into a bonus pot. i have not decided how this would be won yet.

Stuck with thinking of a good name for this.
