The problem, tubexc, is in that little footer.  The licensing of ckpool clearly gives the right to use.  However, the usage of the code does not give the user the right to claim credit for it - especially in the form of a copyright.  By claiming a copyright, you are claiming you have created the work.  These guys most certainly did not create the work - ck and kano did.

I also suggest you take a look at the GPLv3, under which ckpool code is licensed.  In a nutshell, you must leave intact any copyrights.

So, these guys have wrongly taken credit for work they did not do, and have violated the license of the underlying code by removing the appropriate copyrights.

Phil this pool has nothing to do with ck/kano split. The MLM scam referenced there is BitClub pool not this one.

These guys are just using ckpool (by -ck) and ckdb (by kano) which is perfectly fine as its open source, but then they have taken kano's web front end to the db and removed all reference to him from the web code and replaced it with their own.

That being said, it appears the only web page left or that they used from kano's code is http://gbminers.com/index.php?k=blocks which you can compare to https://kano.is/index.php?k=blocks

Johhnybravo, not sure thats quite accurate, we don't know they have removed reference to the authors from the codebase of either ckpool or ckdb thats running, we can't see that really, all we can see is they removed reference to kano's copywrite on the web pages they used (

Ah, but they did.  Changing the footer to claim copyright directly and blatantly removed reference to the authors in the codebase.  The front end code is included, and that code has the following:

If even the THOUGHT of giving me an Avalon entered Kano's head - which I'm pretty positive it NEVER did - then I would be that much farther along in my process of obtaining one in the not too distant future. But that is the thing fantasies are made from.

(I've pulled my three old S7's out of hibernation to heat a couple rooms in the front of the house. Those join my four S8's - even though the S9's are in a room by themselves only heating the outdoor air.)

All I did was stand up for Kano's rights as a developer to not have his work copied then claimed as being the their own work. There are only a few things I hate worse than a thief.  

I would stand up for anyone's rights. You don' have be "powerful", wealthy, or have some pull of some sort. All anyone must do is be in the right to get my support. Kano is right to be pissed off GBminers at the way they procured his copyrighted and very valuable product. I think it is amazing that such a well-done and quality piece of software is out there as open-sources.
All anyone has to do to use it is to give credit to the developer you put their blood, swaeet and tears into making such a quality product.
All the SOB's had to do was LEAVE Kano's copyright mark alone and all would be fine. Instead these people blatantly replaced the valid copyright with their OWN worthless and meaningless copyright.

That makes me ILL.
I hope I'm not the only one who finds this wrong.

Now, Kano, about that Avalon....

Hello Miners,

has anyone else mined with GBminers ? They seem to have a fair amount of hash power, but lots of reports of scams and non payment.

They are using kano's code and rebadged it.  Their support is non existent and some reports of payouts not happening.

I threw a miner onto it and reached the 0.01 BTC payout threshold, but no payment so I've stopped mining with them.

Just like to hear if anyone has been paid out recently with GBMiners ?

I've waited a few days to see if they were going to move over the old account info to the new site's database. They never have. So, I created a login with my email and same user name from the old site. No account balance shows, no previous activity under my info. During their website change they stole the blocks above from their users. They didn't move over any user information to the new site, trashing all previous activity.
GBminers are scums and thieves. I would avoid them at all cost.

Nope my old account info was never restored, nor was I ever given my block rewards before, during or after the website layout change. The software they changed to, looks the same as ViaBTC. Plus the 8 blocks that were hit by them, during the change, were never paid to the pool.
