I have been managing my colleagues rigs for some months now. Since the start of doing so I was amazed by mining and how easy it is to generate bitcoins with it.

I am thinking of building a new 12 cards mining Pc. I have decided to build it with 12 gtx 1050 ti as the consumption is lower if you limit the temperature to 69 degree for example. Hashrate will be a good one at about 2000-2100 sol mining zcash as this coin has skyrocketed lately. My question is , is this kind of computer worth 2400 euro or I am being robed ? For me it is but looking some other experts advice.

Those cards were pretty good. I have some rigs based on that architecture in my mining operations and they run just fine for months.
Regarding the price, 2400 since a medium-high price if we consider just the hardware, this changes if it is an already built one since it prices also the ability and time to build it.

Right now I would not buy it because:
- Next generation of GPUs will come out in a few months (probably we will have it on our farms around September)
- FPGA rumors about every GPU algorithm are getting stronger
- ASICs for many GPU algorithms are being released faster than ever

I would be happy to read different/opposite opinions and discuss about pro and cons

msp for those is $150 or lower but they are selling for like $209

250 for the ones with good cooling

id buy them in droves at msp but at $200 plus fuxk no

wait till july for the 11x series to drop, then pick up a bunch of those at msp

You have to think what you are gonna do after a year or two when mining with them becomes questionable. Will you be able to sell them and at what price? My guess is they won't be worth much currently being at the bottom of nvidia offer of gaming cards.

Mining should still go on as I will not mine ethereum but zcash if you have read my initial post.

I think I will wait till July or August and hopefully by that time I can buy such computer for 1800 euro rather than 2400.

The ROI on 1080ti's is marginal, but have good resale.  The 1050's are junk after you stop mining.
