Hi Bitcoiners,

I tried to install bitcoin mining on my setup using this walkthrough http://www.newslobster.com/random/how-to-get-started-using-your-gpu-to-mine-for-bitcoins-on-windows.
I downloaded the Bitcoin and downloaded all the blocks, then I wanted to start mining but I can only select my CPU on the GUIMiner.. Huh
I installed the latest Drivers and ATI APP SDK.
I've got an AMD Radeon HD 6950 Series card..
Also even when i tried solo mining on my CPU it gave me errors ''Problems communicating with bitcoin RPC 0 2'' etc.. Huh

Any help is much appreciated!

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Not sure how to fix your hidden GPU problem, was your monitor plugged into the 6950 when you booted the computer?  If you do get it to see the GPU you should mine on a pool because it would be almost impossible to find a block mining solo with one 6950.

I assume you've already rebooted? Try to reinstall guiminer. When I had this problems I simply reinstalled Guiminer and it showed my GPU.
