Yes, they are too greedy. They know that the world of cryptography promises a lot of money so they plan to make their own coins.
I think it should not be so, they might be able to adopt a blockchain system for facebook apps but they should not make their coins to pay for company employees.
In addition, the presence of new coins is also unprofitable for bitcoin, the more altcoins that appear will increasingly make the competition between coins to be tight and this will actually impact on the decline in the value of the coin.

listening abou it from long time, have not seen any result yet. as Sheila said, "Facebook might develop a cryptocurrency for enabling micropayments on the social media platform" i was thinking about it in my subconsious mind, because then if people want's to boost something they will use it by crypto.

That is all about for their services like ads targeting and decentralization of some info which could be fasten their delivery. Other people see that facebook will soon create a token or coin, this is one of the misconception about the news. Blockchain technology is not just creating a coin, it is a system of network with a full transparent transaction that could run even other servers goes down. Using the technology, services could be distributed yet can be monitored centrally. That is what I think of it.

Facebook is going work on blockchain technology which will make the Facebook more secure and more helpful. Without this Facebook can also make private key using blockchain technology that match the users’ personal information.

Yes, Facebook has a large database of users and the huge money to invest in the cryptocurrency world. A Facebook Spokesperson said:
“Like many other companies, Facebook is exploring ways to leverage the power of blockchain technology. This new small team will be exploring many different applications. We don’t have anything further to share.” Facebook can integrate his cryptocurrency into Facebook apps.
It will be big news if it appears to be real and if Facebook is serious about launching its own Cryptocurrency. A “Facebook Coin” will be having the potentialities of becoming the premier cryptocurrency with a huge number of active users.

Facebook have now got a team, apparently, to look into how blockchain technology could help resolve some issues Facebook has. We all know that privacy and data are huge issues for many companies, but especially Facebook with billions of active users. So, this is what they are working. Giving users the chance to control what happens to their personal data would be a huge relief for all. Plus blockchain might be used to get around the issue of fake accounts - fake news, etc.

I do not think the facebook will make a new coin, they will use blockchain technology only for their developments and improvements.

Facebook is pulled in by the fame of the digital currency advertise and additionally the developing rise of the blockchain innovation. Presently there is gigantic number of coins working in the market. Bitcoin has earned gigantic prevalence than others as bitcoin have a few points of interest over others. It is more secure and trusted by the all than others cash. Facebook is endeavoring to be in the market with its own money.

I feel this is something funny. On the one hand, Facebook prohibits crypto-related ads on its platform. But on the other hand, they want to create their own coins for the platform. In this case, is there a specific scenario from the facebook  Huh
