Rise to the value of 1 BTC = 1 ALT coin? That won't be hard, just create new at least somewhat decent coin with 100 coins total and reward like 0.001 of coin per block. Once market cap of that coin reaches over 100 BTC (dogecoin has about 10K BTC now), you have achieved the goal Smiley

This could actually be a good thing. It would get a lot of media coverage when "another crypto coin hits $1k !!!". Instant crypto boom all over again.

Digitalcoin would be the only other alt coin I can think of. The community that backs it is the number one reason why I say this.

Most likely some trash coin with a ridiculously low total pool . Bitbar is the closest candidate?

In terms of market cap though (excluding the famous premines [Nxt, Ripple, Mastercoin])? Probably not.

The fact is that coin value and market cap mean squat when evaluating currencies. Volume (consistent, monthly averaged volume) is what matters.

Bitcoin carries a huge liability in the form of miners/mining.

Miners demand 100% of all coins ever to be minted, plus transaction fees too on top of that.

That is a huge overhead expense, which ultimately has to come out of the pockets of the "shareholders" aka the holders of the currency.

Get that huge liability out of the way - find a way to not need that insanely huge expense - and that should leave more wealth available to the holders of a currency, yes?

Certainly moving away from even attempting to meet the ridiculous demands / attitude of miners didn't seem to hurt those that did move away from using the blockchain method of securing a ledger / consensus and thus from the insanely expensive overhead of trying to meet such ridiculous demands.

Just argue here why any other coin would ever reach the heights of BTC.

Don't give me LTC, NMC, or PPC though because those are clearly gonna do it later on down the line.

Sure, when bitcoin worth 10.000 or 20.000 US$, there will be any alt coin in the $1000.

why wasting 1 ltc,  now we already know that FTC will grow insane.. and that should be enough info to get a millionair Grin

ftc is old story.. i know 2 alt's, still young... but the price is 1 ltc

lol no. Don't try to scam in my thread, thanks.

wtf did U expect, that i will tell U for free that kind of info.. go F yourself..
NOW THAT INFO COSTS 2 LTC!

It is all good

LTC is the only one capable or reaching $1000in a near-ish future.
If the btc trend applies it will happen in 1-2 years

EAC (Earthcoins) less and QQ (quickcoins) cmore chances to hit 1k$ in a year

 Roll Eyes

If Earthcoin hits 1k Iam going to buy my own spaceshuttle :b

earthcoin will definitely be worth something but 1k is impossible because of the total amount of coins.

Why do you think Earthcoin will definitely be worth something? It doesn't seem very special from where I'm standing.

Since BTC works as a defacto reserve currency (albeit a weak one compared to any present or past historical real life examples), it is not likely. Not unless it has much smaller coin supply and equal or proportional public interest enough to propel the price above 1000.

Probably Earthcoin, as it's been fairly well thought out in terms of its design, and while I had my doubts initially, Protoshares could be another contender.

In what way does CAT have "great long run potential"?
