Rise to the value over $1000? Sure, considering how USA manages its debt and how fast are they printing more and more money - few years at most for first alt coin to reach that Smiley.

Rise to the value of 1 BTC = 1 ALT coin? That won't be hard, just create new at least somewhat decent coin with 100 coins total and reward like 0.001 of coin per block. Once market cap of that coin reaches over 100 BTC (dogecoin has about 10K BTC now), you have achieved the goal Smiley

But for any current alt coin to surpass BTC in terms of market cap and trade volumes? Highly unlikely, though theoretically possible.

The way the US is printing money, SOCKS will cost a $1,000 soon!

CAT will soon have difficulty 256. That will make CAT among the very most difficult to mine Scrypt coins. CAT is what DOGE should have been -- a coin which is sufficiently difficult to mine that it doesn't overwhelm its demand with supply. CAT does right what DOGE did wrong. CAT is the future.

Many existing altcoins are crap! The value development of altcoins that have a value in some minor area will never reach $1000 (except there are only a few one of them  Grin). I think, all will depend on the price development of bitcoins and how much people believe in fiat money in future.

Protoshares has the potential to reach not just $1000 but even higher rates as it isn't just a coin but a share as well, so it's value will be influenced by the assets behind it. Some good assets can drive the price to "da moon" Smiley.

Disagree.
Doge is popular with thousands of people that have masses of enthusiasm to develop services and features around it independant of its price. Regardless of what people think of its meme beginnings, its about the only crypto being treated as a currency right now, and for sustainability and spreading to more hands thats what will count. I like it, and i enjoy the community around it which is whats important for me to keep my interest. That said, its supply is stupid right now and is a huge hurdle for it, and i do agree that this was a big oversight.

I cant see CAT or Earthcoin going anywhere and arent sure what the reasons are for people backing them.

My outside bet is with Diamond or WorldCoin.

-edit - and i dont think ANY of them will get anywhere near $1000, was just pointing out my preferences for 'doing best' in terms of market.

I think its the wrong question to put a price on value per coin, its more about its marketcap for its max amount of coins available.
For now its still dependant on the success of bitcoin, more and more places are starting to accept them. Once thats a proven success you might see more acceptance of the other altcoins.
There is nothing certain about anything yet though.

Just one more thing. IMO in a dot.com bubble like scenario any coin can reach $1000 with enough hype and media coverage.
