Any predictions on what you will be mining when 2014 hits? Same old same old or going to hit the new alts as soon as they pop up? Kinda been jumping back and forth guided by coinwarz and other misc sites aswell as taking into cosideration stability and maturity of the coin whenever possible. Got into the game mid december and got a rig running, learning slowly and having a good time with all the community action going on around cryptos. This was my "newbie rant" so feel free to discuss or ignore the topic

I will mining the same way, the most profitable until I check again and I switch to another pool Probably in 2014 most of us will not be able to mine profitably anymore tho

Hopefully there are no scrypt asic miners next year. You mean, will change to CPU miner not GPU.

mooncoin in 12 hours.
mooncoin looks to be a huge hit. People are always saying "to the moon".
Earthcoin was last weeks coin... that thing is ready to hit the exchange in a few days so we can trade it to LTC.

Well, being a noob to the forum, this is my first message.
I bought an ASIC miner and at the time of posting, it is currently being shipped to me. I used to think the concept of digital currency was absurd. However, last month, over a couple of days and watching a Money Morning report and subsequently buying Michael Robinson's how-to on Bitcoins, I am now a believer. I am thinking 2014 is going to be the breakthrough year for cryptocurrencies, being as how so many of the world's fiat currencies are produced by countries with debt loads that will be at best difficult to deal with, and at worst, catastrophic. I'm thinking in particular about what will happen when the U.S. Government is forced to face the fact that they cannot perpetually pile on the debt. It will be more than just the U.S. that will suffer in the event that the U.S. Government completely loses control. I've been thinking for some months that maybe the U.S., as a free country, will become more totalitarian in its final years of existence - sort of the opposite of the Soviet Union, a totalitarian country, that became much more free in its final years. I am a bullion horder but I think cryptocurrencies have a lot of potential. I like the decentralisation of economics in it.
Well, anyway, I'm hoping to mine anything I can, although Bitcoins and Devcoins are my current priorities right now. I have to get a hold of Dinkleberg to have him open me an account on Devtome, since I love writing and I've got a couple essays sitting around I'd love to publish. Once I get a hold of my ASIC miner in a few days I'll be asking somebody how it works, haha.
Yeah, so, here's to the cryptocurrencies we seek, and good luck to all of you enlightened folk on this forum.

I started with Doge and liked how many i could get. i noticed doge was falling and sold 10k for some LTC, as LTC has been more stable and is also harder to mine. then i noticed doge became ahrder to mine and have stopped mining it as i'm unsure if it's worth mining now. i started with CAT because it has less people involved and appears to be worth more; i say "appears" because some value it to be worth a lot yes it trades much less than that value. i'm also unsure if one would lose value by trading to ltc and then ltc to btc. alot have talked about LTC being the new thing because it has a lot more blocks to go than BTC and is easier to mine. Moon coin seems promising and i'm hoping that by getting into it early will provide to be beneficial.
currently i have about .3 ltc and 1000 doge. thinking about holding onto the doge and possibly trading the ltc for btc, and trade my CAT for btc. it'll be interesting to see what will happen to the market this week.
