Nice! Thanks for the post. Donation is coming your way. Just picked up 8 of these bad boys!
Thats a big investment for no warranty 0.o I hope they all work well and don't die on you shortly after the 30 days.

I guess I could put my money in the stock market or under the mattress but Bitcoin mining is more fun though Wink

Me thinks he exaggerates a bit.

Oh I know what you mean bitcoins is my hobby and Ive invest a fair amount into it. I just would be scared to take that big of a risk. As you buy more the chances of one going bad are quite good.

I'm not sure how closely newegg watches but he could use multiple accounts with out them knowing right?

Lol.

Newegg could cross check the information with shipping and credit card details to limit their stock hence why I only bought two.Definitely expecting this to ship out today considering how good their past performance was with my prior orders and make up the profits quicker with the surging Solidcoin, lol.

Naw - 4 orders is easy.. ship one to each of:

- home
- office
- parents house
- in laws house
- friends' house(s)
- cousins' house(s)

I've used all of the above except cousins (none local).  The egg only catches on if you use the same cc on the orders.

Haha... I will explain the trick. Newegg.com really has two sites with the same inventory.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814105001&Tpk=radeon%205970
http://www.neweggbusiness.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814105001&Tpk=radeon%205970

I bought 4 and called up a buddy who bought 4 for me.

BTW, they are now sold out. I guess a couple other people had the same idea i did.  Grin

Damn I was just considering swapping out some of my existing cards for one of these, as I've wanted one for a while, but so it goes. NewEgg rapes me with tax anyway  Angry

OOS Sad

Thank goodness. It was seriously taxing resisting the purchase of these.

Was thinking of swapping out the 6970s that I *just* got for these (my PSU and rest of the system could have handled it). But it was hard to justify $500/card (in essence $250/5870) when I could get 5870s for $200 and the 6970s I had just bought for $225 apiece.

Ah,that explains it.

I also checked for codes and got an extra 10 bucks off so shipping was also free.........looks like the order shipped within the last hour as well.

Mine shows as "shipped" as well, but no tracking # yet.  Does anybody know where these are shipping from?

I don't know about you guys...

but when the price of BTC drops $2 in one day, the first thing I want to do is sink $500 on another mining card (or $4,000 on 8 of them).

...or maybe not.

I was going to argue with you and realized it would be stupid. Also I'm sure you ignored my post earlier but just in case you missed it you were wrong in this thread earlier about roi and this isn't the first time I've corrected you.

5970 has only one fan for 2 GPU core so it runs hotter, the frequency and voltage is much lower than 5870, and it is difficult to raise the voltage without modify the bios

touche! so you get 1 year and 30 days. That does help but I am definitely not clear on how american express,
for example, would treat an OEM vid card with a 30 day warranty. It is not a normal purchase I would be confident about.
You know.. the fine print and all.

and has one of the highest failure rates for radeon cards. i had a gpu go bad in mine and sent it back for a refund. thank goodness
for a liberal return policy. that is pretty much why i am gun shy of that card. I really wanted to go with it but decided cheap 5830s,
used btw, were the best bang for the buck.
