Ok - this is getting ridiculous - the shear number of new coin announcements is totally fudging up the alt-currency forum. There have been several announcements that I have missed as a result of all the high volume spammy crap being posted for a bazillion new coin releases.

Please. Let's have a sub forum devoted to new releases so the established coins do not get drowned out in a sea of release announcements.

Thanks in advance Smiley

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I agree - there is quite a bit of traffic in this forum, and a lot of the posts get buried quickly, not just the new coin announcements.  Perhaps multiple subforums would be a good idea (one for announcements, one for software, one for giveaways, etc)?

One problem with having the announcements in a new forum though: The announcement post tends to become the main thread for the coin, and all news/discussion relating to it - if threads for coins announced months ago are getting constantly updated, that will also throw them to the first page and bury any new announcements.  Perhaps we should have an announcements-only subforum and encourage the simultaneous creation of a "main coin thread" in the main forum?
