Yea, I think essentially what we're after is the current lottocoin logo design/image BUT with a finish similar to the new Netcoin logo. Doesnt have to be exactly the same but I hope this gives a better idea of what we want.

And yes I think the 3D is more in line with what we want to achieve.

If you like my post please feel free to give me some positive rep https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=18639

Oldminer...

REALITY CHECK...

No offence but all the designs so far are absolutely terrible... [look someone's got to say it as we are not judging kids art and have to be nice about this here] corporate logo design should never be approached by this kind of cheapskate 'prize' competition and the entries just prove my point further.

Which is exactly why I originally said you are going to offer more than one bitcoin or you will get loads of amateur entries and no serious designer will bother to help. The sad thing is that people on this forum, although they have the 3d programs to play with, believe that they are good which is a worry in itself... The netcoin designs are superb and I agree are the benchmark and I only wish that the brief had been given earlier as I can see exactly what you now want... something that looks like a physical 3D coin that evolves your existing brand. I wish I had a 3D program as I could easily do it but unfortunately I just work in photoshop and I've already spent too many hours on this so I will have to bow out for now. My suggestion still stands that you put the reward up to at least 3 bitcoin as this is a small investment to get your coin branded by a professional.

If you are really serious about this coin the logo should be your first priority as it is how the public and investors judge you... an amateur logo and an amateur logo competition does not inspire confidence... get this right and make the right investment and lotto will be perceived to be a serious brand. Your brand values are embodied in your logo.

Did I hear someone say that market trading had reached 100,000 dollars... well 3 bitcoin is a drop in the ocean and a professional branding company would charge between 5-10 thousand dollars to do this for you and the better brand agencies much higher still. The examples so far all demonstrate why you need a pro to do it as it sounds easy but unless you know what you are doing, understand some basic typographical and design rules you are just going to get a load of rubbish like the entries that have been submitted so far.

Again, I don't want to offend anyone who has entered... but come on guys... seriously nothing has come close to what is required so over to the pros before anymore time is wasted.

A good logo = $2100?Huh? (3BTC)
There are guys on Fiverr making logos for $5!

I think 1BTC is plenty. We just need more advertisement

I simply took the existing brand 'flavour' and gave it a bit more of a 3D look and worked on making the logotype LOTTO COIN legible when reduced in size which it isn't at the moment and isn't with all the designs submitted so far apart from my one... which improves it slightly but I agree with you there still needs to be that wow factor which is lacking in all the designs. I simply don't have the time to work up an original idea and give it the polish it needs unless I get paid as I don't have the time to do it speculatively.

You can see samples of my original design work here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=390797.0
these are samples of my original design work (no clip art and no 3D programs as I work in photoshop)

oldminer actually took all my design samples to illustrate the direction he'd like to see the coin developed but changed the brief slightly as he'd like to see a work up of a 3D coin with the angle and wow factor of Netcoin. This shows lottocoin understands the importance of getting this right before changing the current logo...

As I had a few hours spare I knocked up a logo that moves the current design forward while retaining its initial characteristics... the pile of money, the sun rays and the same typeface. Brand evolution is important and sometimes large companies release two phase logo changes before radically changing direction. As Lottocoin is new there is a chance for a complete change... but please understand this was my thinking behind my submission.

this proves his point..
I agree, for 700-800 $ you should be able to get a lot more professional logo's

but I think there is another reason for him to do this within the cryptocommunity... it's more attention for the coin.. so this is a bit of marketing as well Wink
