mining litecoins with new r7 250

I got a new AMD card to replace my old, tried to do some litecoin mining test and found that even when the R7 250 OC is supposed to be like a 7750 or similar, it only does 17khash instead of 300 as I expected. Mining bitcoins produce around 100Mhash. Im using cgminer running in Fedora 19 64 bits. Any suggestions to tweak perfomance with this card?

If it is similar to the 7750 have you tried playing around with similar configurations?

Havent had access to many cards My previous one was a 6670, but I was lucky enough to get the only card with defective OpenCL in the whole city, so I cant say how much it can do. I use the hardware comparison charts to have an idea about what to expect.
